Forty Foot Echo

Forty Foot Echo frontman Murry Yates used to be in the Canadian alt-rock outfit Templar, which found some success with its mixture of hard-hitting rock and techno grooves. The album Under the Sun was even nominated for a Juno award. However, in November 2001, Yates found himself without band and without label, after Templar's unceremonious breakup. Despite this setback, Yates persevered. He began writing songs on his own, and eventually recorded them as a demo with pal Joe Moi. Moi, a producer and engineer who had worked with Canadian powerhouses Nickelback, passed the tapes around and sparked label interest in Yates. He eventually signed with Hollywood and assembled his band. Forty Foot Echo came together after Yates had decamped to L.A. to record, but all of its members were actually Canadian. In addition to Yates, the band included rhythm guitarist Eric Schraeder, bassist Mike Sanchez, drummer Rob Kurzreiter, and lead guitarist Pete Thorn, who joined after a stint as Five for Fighting's touring guitarist. Hollywood released Forty Foot Echo's self-titled debut in May 2003. It was produced by Jim Wirt (Hoobastank) and mixed by Tom Lord-Alge (Fuel). Upon release, the album was compared to such broad post-grunge acts as Creed, the Calling, and Fuel. ~ Johnny Loftus, Rovi

Haha, Chevelle's latest album (Vena Sera) is MUCH harder than this stuff, try Nickelback as a comparable band to Fourty Foot Echo.

Like chevelle (latest album) but with more pop elements. That's my opinion - and I have never regretted discovering this group. Great songs, although it seems only 1 of their albums are shown here at this time.

yo orion its spelled rapists retard
The singer has a great tone which compliments the tight percussion n guitar riffs. Many of the songs hit home with various situations in my life - Weakness, Drift... The talent shines through of not just the musicians but the producers and mixing engineers.
lol, I actually used to get Forty Foot Echo and Default mixed up a while ago, I believe. This guys have some good songs, and they got some bad ones. Like many bands...
I think that theyre okay, maybe more pop. They kind of remind me of Revolverhead from Germany. Revolverhead is better, more hardcore.

you suck i hope you die and fall into a hole of rapeists
They are ok, but I don't like them
They can play but their songwriting is weak, and their debut album sounds so over produced its hard to hear any originality in it. I guess if your just wanting 'any' kind of Rock album this might be for you but if you enjoy power and emotion laced with rawness this is not it. No disrespect intended but Forty Foot Echo is a carbon copy of Default and they are anything but interesting.
not bad for a Canadian band.
Not bad, you can hear hints of Nickleback in their tunes, but very listenable.
yeah... it seems kewl. Not my kinda style but, it's alright.
i prefer more screamin though. :(
Different. I like this.
Corrections nonwithstand i n g , this band rocks.
