The Orlando-based five-piece Seven Nations encompasses a wide variety of diversity in music, but the love for creating their own musical sound remains a common goal. Seven Nations pushes American trad rock and Celtic roots rock while intertwining the brooding beauty of the mandolin, violin, bagpipes, and horns for a worldbeat seascape of rock & roll. Independent success has been entirely on the band's own terms, for Seven Nations has had their own ESPN, PBS, and CNN specials and sold more than 125,000 copies of their countless releases without ever being promoted and signed by a major label. Seven Nations, who formed in 1994, is comprised of vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Kirk MacLeod, fiddle player Dan Stacey, bassist Struby, mandolinist/bagpiper Scott Long, and drummer Ashton Geoghagan. They have played to over 40,000 people at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland, and in fall 2000 Dewar's Scotch signed on to promote the band's mainstream self-titled debut. After a few high profile appearances (including shows at the New York City Marathon and the 2002 Winter Olympics Torch Arrival Ceremony,) they stepped back into the studio. And Now It's Come To This arrived in the summer of 2002. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, Rovi
Have been a fan for years, and like someone else already commented, we discovered them at a pipe band competition, heard them playing outside the circle and stopped dead in my tracks. Music i had been waiting for all my life. They were Clan na Gael then. I think something was lost when Neil left. Road Kill is my favorite cd
I have an Clan Na Gael album and I didn't make the connection between them and Seven Nations. Thanks ethanhmoore and deckmedic6!

Love these guys. Their original piper, Neal Anderson the Antipypr, is unbelievable. He played at my wedding. Two of their best CDs are Big Dog and Old Ground with Neal on the pipes.
Loved this band for years now...discovered them walking thru the Highland Games in Richmond , Va and their sound stopped me dead in my tracks...became an instant fan!
Fell in love with these guys during the 2009 Tulsa Scottish festival... LOVE the music! Bout "Time as the enemy" CD and played that til it couldnt be played anymore..

I saw them in the late '90s performing at a highland's festival in Virginia and was hooked! They are wonderful in person and the venue was tent with lots and lots of "happy" Scots (have to love the clan's drinking prowess!). That night still remains a great memory (albeit a bit fuzzy towards the end!).

I discovered them in 2001 or '02 when I lived in Tampa-I've seen them live about 3 or 4 times. They're still my favorite band!
Too bad Pandora doesn't have forums; I'd love to see if we could develop a complete list of Pandora Celtic artists that use bagpipes or classic fiddle. If you're a Celtic fan, someone set up discussion on my site http://forum.alwaysmakingmoney.com/ & let's create a great list.
Thanks,

This band is amazing, but I'd really love to hear more of their Clan N'gael album. It's their best in my opinion.

Saw SN in Pueblo Colorado at local July 4th event play to about 5000 people-awesome. 1994 Rain and Thunder (recorded at New Atlantis)cd is not listed.

This band was great back in the late 90's, but unfortunatly they have moved away from thier celtic roots after thier first piper left the band. I'm still trying to find some of thier first albums.

I saw them at a Scottish festival years ago and was "blown away" by their terrific show...rock, bagpipes, vocals, presence. Why didn't they "take off"?
Surprised and glad that this artist "popped up" unbidden, on Pandora. Way to go, how did you know????
I saw this group live at a Celtic festival at Oglethorpe College in Atlanta, Georgia and bought every cd of their music that was available at the time. They were terrific musicians and had a great sense of blending the old and new! One of my all time favourites.
