Nine Black Alps

Manchester, England's Nine Black Alps feature Sam Forrest (vocals/guitar), James Galley (drums/vocals), Martin Cohen (bass), and David Jones (guitar). The indie rock foursome came together in 2003, taking their name from a line in the Sylvia Plath poem "The Couriers." Two years later, Nine Black Alps inked a record deal with Island in the U.K. Their debut album, Everything Is, arrived that June. A U.S. record deal with Interscope and a self-titled EP followed in July. Tours with the Kaiser Chiefs, Hard-Fi, and Weezer as well as festival appearances at Glastonbury, T in the Park, Reading, and Leeds coincided with the success of such Top 40 singles as "Shot Down," "Not Everyone," "Unsatisfied," and "Just Friends." Produced by Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliott Smith, the Vines), Everything Is was released stateside in February 2006, and a limited six-song EP, Glitter Gulch, came out shortly after. West Coast dates with Social Distortion followed that summer, while their second album, Love/Hate, was released in October 2007. When their major-label deal ended, the band released a third record, Locked Out from the Inside, through its own Lost House Records in October 2009. Following the departure of Cohen -- who not only found a deal with Fat Cat for his Milk Maid project, but also pursued a career in rock photography -- Karl Astbury, formerly of the Witches, replaced him on bass. Next for Nine Black Alps came a deal with Leeds-based Brew Records, which released their fourth album, Sirens, in October 2012. With Brew closing the following year, Nine Black Alps signed on with Hatch Records, where they released their fifth album, Candy for the Clowns, in 2014. ~ MacKenzie Wilson & James Wilkinson, Rovi

This band have other albums, infact, candy for the clowns came out on May 6 so why is Pandora ignoring the rest of this bands Discography? !
I had to log in to the comments section again just to express my disdain for this horrible excuse for music.

Seems so peaceful to me lol but that's me
I can really hear the papa roach influence... . . a w e s o m e :)
most underrated band ever
Great song but I prefer there song "un satisfied " more
Shut up bobonnit! You're really f***ing annoying man!

Anyway, the song I listened to sounded good, will have to search up more of their stuff!
This band sucks. They sound like all the other loser depressing bands of the early 2000's. Seriously.
my favorite song :)

Boy, thought I was listening to Jawbox...fun stuff!
If you think Ash isn't trying to be commercial, look at the song "Candy,"-Mor e like a backstreet boy song than anything. I rest my case.
Ron, It's still watered down compared to Nirvana and other bands. It's not overpowering lyrically or musically.
I like this band too. to Ron- I saw Gang of Four too. Years ago though. Like 1988. They were so great. They opened for Sisters of Mercy. You beleive that? I guess because at that time This Corrosion was a club hit.
Doob, Take a good listen to Trailer by Ash. I originally heard it on AM college radio here in Minneapolis. Definitely not watered down or very commercial for that fact.Anyways , j u s t saw Gang of Four the other night at First Avenue. Pure Legend.
Ash is way more watered down(like them still), especially their later stuff.
I think love/hate is better than everything is.
Yeah;
Where is love/hate. I own that album and its not here.
This guitar work reminds me more of a rockin' Interpol, But it's got that Ash edge too.. Catchy...
Is it me or does this sound a LOT like Ash?
bionicle92
shot down is their best...rock on 9 black alps!
Controvertib l y , Unsatisfied is one of the most perfect combinations of lyrical and guitaral collaboratio n s ; a song waiting to be sang...

So uh.... when did Everything Is come out anyway?

"Surely the creation of the heavens and the earth is more than the creation of man, but most people don't know." -The Koran

Havin all the creation together is phenomenal, though

And now Run is rockin my consciousnes s :) Thank you pandora
Mark....didn ' t you know that after the turn of the millennium that only 10% of all new music was allowed to be original, everything else is just spin-offs, lol
All I have to say is what happened to music these days...... Why does everything sound like Radio head, incubus, Oasis, or Killers. Wow we need a change
One of the best bands in a long time. They rock and write great songs.
Love this band. Found the CD for $3 used in a local CD Warehouse. Turned all my friends on and they loved it. Each track offers something new. Pick it up if you can... There is always iTunes if you can't find it.

Every time I see a review by F**kin A, I know it will be utterly inaccurate. Thanks for meeting my expectations once again, F**kin A. What are you, fourteen years old?
Whiny? Not the impression I've got. Hope to hear more off Everything is soon. Thanks for the heads up Pandora and friends.
This band is new to me. I like the song "Unsatisfied "
All opinions are good enough, but ya gotta love the smoking rabbit on the cover of Everything Is- great graphics and good drawing too.
I really like this group, whiny or not. Thanks again to Pandora for introducing me to new bands - this is a great way to hear new music.
