The Agony Scene hail from Tulsa, OK, where they formed at the start of the new millennium, broke up, made up, and eventually recorded a self-titled debut album, released by independent Solid State Records, in 2003. At this time, the band consisted of vocalist Michael Williams, guitarists Christopher Emmons and Johnny Lloyd, bassist Matthew Shannon, and drummer Brent Masters, and even though said album contained relatively run-of-the-mill metallic deathcore, the quintet still managed to score a deal with heavy metal powerhouse Roadrunner Records for its sophomore effort, The Darkest Red. Released in May 2005, following Lloyd and Shannon's departure and replacement by Steven Kaye (guitar) and Brian Hodges (bass), this album showed little creative growth over its predecessor, and met with only slightly less public indifference, despite the Agony Scene's high-profile tours in support of Danzig and Lamb of God later that year. Sure enough, the under-performing group was soon dropped by Roadrunner, but eventually resurfaced in 2007 (after welcoming new bassist Chris Rye and drummer Ryan Folden, plus Brian Hodges' move to second guitar) with a new album, Get Damned, released by Century Media. On a final note, the Agony Scene have always insisted that they are not in fact a Christian band, regardless of name and lyrics that suggest exactly this. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi
This band is sick, The Darkest Red all the way. Get Damned grew on me a little, but definitley give The Darkest Red a listen. Great all around screaming vocals and swift clean riffs. Heavy beauty.
depends how one is to define things. they hate many american values, such as basing ones life off money and doing everything they can to get it and power. it could go either way really; not only the government wants these things. its the american way. the patriotic way. its political, its all that stuff. but yes they are great musicians. i appreciate bands with great music and intelligent lyrics and these guys are no slouches on either end
Who cares what the message is? All Shall Perish is amazingly talented. Sometimes bands don't write their songs, they just play and have fun. Maybe you guys should try it.
and i dont like this band i dunno why they on my bdm radio. heard em long time ago and they pretty core/scenster to me. with grunge. i dunno. guitar not so great. cool back in the day
oh my god all shall perish is like anti patriotic if anything. all you have to do is look at the album cover and use your f uckin head. oh yes, price of existence has a robot human enslaved by money. ahh awaken the dreamers is that the statue of liberty?! with guns?!! hmm dont look like she stands for freedom to me on the album. looks like they maintain and stress that money is not important. and your going to tell me thats the american, good ol boy capitalist free market way. right. "i
All shall perish is a shallow band. Patriotism is all well and good but after 3 albums of straight up patriotism for lyrics and the same demented howls it just gets old. I will give them some credit for Awaken the Dreamers though that's a good one.
Old scratch is a great song although its the only one I've heard on Get Damned.
gah why do they keep comin up?!??! i hate how pandora dont recognize all shall perish is better than these damn core bands, even if they may play a little breakdown once in awhile. asp, between the buried and me, necrophagist, conducting from the grave, wretched, and the faceless would shred these guys' faces off. make all your vaginas bleed before that time of month comes

Get Damned is my favorite. Rattle me Bones is just one of the many songs that F*ing rock
Weak, Pandora needs to get there self-titled it's they're best CD. And yah, all you dudes/chicks are right they're definitely not Christians. I have no clue why they were ever on Solid State. I guess SS thought they were and picked em up. And TAS probably failed to mention that they weren't because they were actually getting a record deal. Just like Evanescence. Despite that they're still good.
these guys are NOT Christian. listen to their lyrics. i read in an interview that they are actually disgusted by Christians and seem to mock them. but you should pretty much be able to tell that by their lyrics.
as i lay dying kinda fell into that trap too, some rumors started and all of a sudden a bunch of 16y/o girls with crucifix tramp stamps started freaking out that they praised jezuzomglol i wannna see a band thats like WERE HARDCORE JEWISH thatd be badass
Everyone's favorite christian metalcore band. Even though they worked in the medium of zao-worship, they have the distinction (and infamy) of being one of the first christian gothenburg ripoff band.

They were really good in '03, but their sound has fallen out of favor with most folks. I still listen to it, though.
Old scratch is a great song although its the only one I've heard on Get Damned.
Simple as that.
However, they play balls to the wall.
