The Alan Parsons Project

Engineer/producer Alan Parsons and his colleague, songwriter and lyricist Eric Woolfson, formed the Alan Parsons Project in 1975. Throughout their career, the Alan Parsons Project recorded concept albums (including adaptations of Poe and Asimov books), with a revolving cast of session musicians. 1982's Eye in the Sky was their greatest success; the title track charted in the Top Ten on the pop charts and the album went platinum. Although they weren't able to repeat that success, the group maintained a devoted cult audience. ~ All Music Guide

I Love The Alan Parsons Project.

The tragic loss of Eric Woolfson shattered my heart.... He was the pure f**king genius of prog rock...Tales of Mystery and Imagination is my ultimate fav classic concept album. I won't forget that cold day in early December 2009....when I found out the devastating news. I was speechless all day. Alan, many thanks for continuing to produce (!) addictive music! Two legends who where waaay ahead of their time.

Just watched a 2004 concert on YouTube. It was really good.they did a great job on the vocals, considering all the singers they had on the albums

Ammonia Avenue was my favorite album. Favorite song was Don't answer me. The video was also a favorite. Who could forget the adventures of Nick and Sugar?

Absolutely LOVED the sax at the end of 'Old & Wise'! Wow! Fav Album was 'The Turn Of A Friendly Card'- such a cleverly engineered/ produced album. I recall my older brothers playing tracks from it and 'Eye In The Sky' and falling in love with this sound! Such under-rated artists!

Some 40+ years after first hearing APP, still one of my favorite groups. My kids cut their Teckno teeth on APP and they still love it too!!

The only way I made it through my first corporate job was I would sing the song under my breath to my boss everyday,. I wouldn't want to be like you. He heard it but he never got it. Thank God for Alan Parsons

Saw the Orlando show over the weekend and The Project sounded great. This has got to be the weakest review I have ever seen on Pandora.

parts that were unlike ANYTHING out there except maybe Pink Floyd. Please get another review(er) to do justice to this band, thx!

Really, Pandora? One of the most influential bands of the 70's - 90's that STILL influences synth, prog, and pop music bands today and all they get is a lousy 5 lines? APP took the concept of a "concept album" to higher heights and even engendered more intellectual discourse than Rick Wakeman's solo efforts while being more closer to mainstream than Rick(not to diminish RW's works, which I also love). They were the pioneers, among few other bands at the time, to develop and program synthesizer p

My roommate in 1979 turned me on to the Pyramid album. I'm now slowly replacing all my APP vinyl with CD and adding to them! Love them.

Alan Parson's project was great through Pyramid. After that they seemed to be phoning it in, or shooting for the pop market - which may be synonymous.

What these Guys brought to the table in the mid 70s nothing that I had heard before Alan Parsons rocks

I remember buying Tales of Mystery and Imagination strictly because of my love of Edgar Allen Poe and was pleasantly surprised by how good the album was. Never stopped buying all of the APP albums as they came out.. Although they sometimes are overlooked, one of the best progressive rock bands ever!!!

I started with wearing out my brother's tape of Turn Of A Friendly Card, but now enjoy I Robot the most. I also have a soft spot for Stereotomy.

I love all APP albums. Best appreciated when you listen beginning to end for most of his Concept albums. Though it's hard to pick, my favorite is If I Could Change your mind, the last cut on Eve. The vocalist is I believe, the same who sang on Dark Side. It is a perfect end to an album that is often panned for being mysoginistic . I never views it as being "woman hating ", but more about the pain of some one who had been hurt in a relationship and was trying to deal with the pain.
