Los Angeles quartet Ambrosia, whose founding members included guitarist/vocalist David Pack, bassist/vocalist Joe Puerta, keyboardist Christopher North, and drummer Burleigh Drummond, fused symphonic art rock with a slickly produced pop sound. The group was discovered in 1971 by Los Angeles Philharmonic conductor Zubin Mehta, who featured Ambrosia as part of a so-called All-American Dream Concert. However, it took them four more years to get a record contract; Ambrosia was released in 1975 and spawned the chart singles "Holdin' on to Yesterday" and "Nice, Nice, Very Nice." The latter was based on Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.'s Cat's Cradle. Ambrosia scored another hit in 1977 with a cover of the Beatles' "Magical Mystery Tour" from the film All This and World War II, which they also appeared in.
North left the group just before their biggest pop breakthrough in 1978 with the number three hit "How Much I Feel." Ambrosia followed this success in 1980 with another number three hit, "Biggest Part of Me," and the number 13 follow-up "You're the Only Woman." Their next album failed, ending their run of chart success, and the group broke up; individual members are still active as session musicians and vocalists, as well as producers. ~ Steve Huey, Rovi
This is borders282930's teen.... this band is the BEST EVER and out of my favorite bands, i love this band the mostest x10000. lol LOVE THEM!!!! GO 70'S 4EVER! :D
Fabulous band! Original three members going strong with an added two musicians who are just as awesome! What a great sound---they are my favorite! Love you guys!!!!!!
LOVE this song and Ambrosia, as well as the band Ace...another band with great vocals. I definitely identify with the 70s & 80s music compared to what would be considered my era of the 90s. No one puts out great songs like these anymore. It's sad really. With the invention of auto-tune any clown can put out an album.

The full bio information is not a good review and only fragments of truth of accurate facts. Ambrosia was and is a great band. The harmonies are excellent.
Ambrosia is a fantastic band and I had the pleasure of seeing them live about 4 years ago at a Summer festival. I bought Joe Puerta a beer and sat and talked with him a while. Great guys and very very talented. Their music is very technically accurate and you can tell they were educated in music from college.

definitely cp0rz1! If anyone saw this band live, you knew how great they were all around.

Hey don't forget Alan Parsons used these guys as his band for most of the 70's and 80's...nuff said.

jeez -- some of the comments are actually concerning the sexuality of the members of this band because of a man-hug? Seriously? These guys were boyhood friends! Plus, I hug my male friends all the time and I'm totally straight! Anyway, this band has had such a weird creative arc, from the first album to the last, that it's really hard to tell which is the real Ambrosia. The first two albums are fantastic and well-produced, but the ones that follow are like the Doobies and Kenny Loggins.
I've been such a huge fan of this band for years!!!

Great sound. You can also tell the influence Michael McDonald had being a producer on some of their songs. Harmony, smooth vocals and great lyrics. Yes Ambrosia...rock on!
