American Head Charge

Born out of a chance meeting in rehab between Cameron Heacock and Chad Hanks, Minneapolis-based industrial metal collective American Head Charge match their brutally executed music with their behavior. Heacock and Hanks, now known as Martin C**k and Mr. H.C. Banks III, formed AHC in the late '90s, releasing their critically acclaimed debut, War of Art, in 2001. The record scored the band -- which by then included guitarist Bryan Ottoson, keyboardist Justin Fowler, and drummer Christopher Emery -- a coveted slot on that year's Ozzfest tour, at which point the group splintered into a violent, drug-fueled nonentity that became known more for its on-stage/backstage mayhem than for its excellent musicianship. As the year progressed, the bandmembers, despite frequent trips back to rehab and the occasional near-suicidal meltdown, managed to continue to filter their rage into creativity, resulting in their 2005 ambitious sophomore effort, Feeding, their first for the Nitrus/DRT label. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi

Metal meets Rage against the machine...ch u r c h
I find that the only music I actually enjoy, and feel, is the type of music that I got excited about when I was thirteen: pantera, slipnot, sepultura, staticx, etc. Now at the age of thirty it's a strange issue having to explain to my kids that this isn't daddy's angry music, in fact nothing makes me happier. I believe I saw a documentary that mentioned that many of us who enjoyed this music struggle to find substitute for the power that this music evokes. Its a strange phenomena I'm often requi
AHC is going on tour this August.
Cameron Heacock is that singer always has been and always will be.... he just goes M.I.A for a few years every now and then
So who's the new lead singer again?
Hung out with these guys on thier bus ozzfest 2001 ATL. gnarly dudes

Normally the bios here are comprehensiv e and highlight not just the lifestyle but the music. This one really missed the mark. These guys are colliding meteors. The music and the message are flawless. It wasn't the lifestyle that damaged AHCs' climb, it is the fusion of the lifestyle into their offerings that put them and their music in a place that will never be immitated. Losing Bryan wasn't about losing a musician.... i t was about losing part of the collecive soul of the entity...irr e p l a c e a b l e .
Not the only good band from Mn... Badass metal scene in MN!
ONE OF MY FAVORITE BANDS , I SEEN THEM START UP AT BASEMENT PARTIES TO RED SEA BAR TO FIRST AVE IN THE LATE 90'S AND STILL RELEVANT TO THE TWIN CITIES MUSIC SCENE TODAY. GREAT SEEING YOU GUYS AGAIN
one of the best and last known bands nu-metal ever had, it's a shame that great musicians are so prone to addiction.
I hung out with these guys on thier tour bus at ozzfest in ATL. circa 2002, radical dudes. and they have good taste in gange
Fancy meeting you here Dan LOL
AHC is back, and putting together a tour for next month...

Deeply moving music...To bad the explosion had to subside. I'm sure the crew is doing some damage else where? Look out for the reunion, I'm bet it's cominggg

Love this band. Amazing live shows with lots of chaos in the pits. I miss them dearly!
sick f**kin band! i wonder if their gonna come out with another album???

These guys are a prime example of everything I love about music that never hits the mainstream, and music I effin want to smash **it to and then forget about for 8 years-I suck!!
His voice is simply amazing. The music is heavy yet melodic. Nothing bad can be said about these guys!
These guys used to live right next door to a friend of mine when they were here in Minneapolis. Lots of fun- good guys with the proverbial "rough life" story. Drugs destroy everything they come into contact with, & these guys were an unfortunate example of that at such a young age. Their music is absolutely incredible, & they emit so much passion thru the music & lyrics. "The War of Art" was before its time it seemed, even today still. I remember hearing the album WELL before it even came out :)
I think The War of Art is an absolutely perfect album. There isn't a single dull song on it and you can listen to the whole thing over and over and not feel drained.
BEST BAND OUT OF mn EVER!!!!

but not for long...
creepy but good
AGAIN WITH THE FIRST COMMENT THING! wow...
