Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman, Howe

The group Yes has had a long and complicated history. By 1989, there were two different factions, one led by bassist Chris Squire that owned the rights to the name "Yes," and this one, featuring singer Jon Anderson, drummer Bill Bruford, keyboard player Rick Wakeman, and guitarist Steve Howe. This quartet made an album, titled Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe, and went on the road playing what it called "An Evening of Yes Music, Plus," which occasioned a lawsuit. Finally, all was resolved, and the next version of Yes was a mega-edition featuring eight members, who made the album Union. ~ William Ruhlmann

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM AGAIN IN CHICAGO

Thumb home from college to see Yes in Chicago in 1975. Had a chance to see them twice. Both with Rick. There will never be a band like yes. Way ahead of themselves in the early 70's. God bless Chris.

I am a lifelong YES fan from the release of the very first album! The CD is worth it, if for nothing else than Jon's emotional rendition of Soon! Simply powerful and beautiful,; it may just bring tears to your eyes! Thank you, Jon!! Dr. Of Style.

Live is always better with them. Jon is amazing, I saw his live acoustic show at BB Kings and recently as Anderson Ponty. R. I. P Chris and P. S. Thanks for the handshake, see you on the other side. The Beacon shows were always fantastic!

I don't expect a live version to have the all the comlexities of this type of sophisticate d multi layered music. The original version was magical and would be fun to see live. Sometimes live versions are better but you cannot recreate the original collaboratio n with

Lightning struck , I feel the record companies ruinedit on an epic level. We had to hitch hike and camp out to get tickets. Wtf happened?

Yes Genesis ELP UK King Crimson they all had a Mystique about them today there's nothing to be surprised about it was really magical back then , music will never be written like that again, I wish I could go back and see Yes in the round at the Chicago Amphitheater again, I wonder what these kids today will have to reminisce about when they get older the garbage that that comes out of the music industry today!

It's funny in 8th grade me and a few friends all listen to super groups Genesis, Yes, ELP, when i first listened to Bill Bruford i was in awe!, ive seen many great shows, concer t s the one that stands out was Yes Tormato tour at the old Chicago Amphitheater they played in the round , and the electric in the air the anticipation before they came out and made their way to the center of the Amphitheater was absolutely amazing and spectacular, the way the stage slowly turned throughout the whole show

An excellent version of Starship Trooper. .would be the best except for when Aderson "thanks the crowd for coming. ..it's been magical " He sounds like he's emceeing the ice capades

All the great progressive bands stand alone. They're all unique(other than being collectively the greatest group of musicians of any genre ever)

The Band's of the 80's and Yes, of part of the 70's have a talent, and Musical ability, that has an Integrity that Has been completely lost in the Music that today's Youth listen to. Mostly Rap and Death Metal. It's So SAD that they won't open their Minds to an earlier Generation. A Generation of musical Integrity and Exceptional Talent. !!!!!

One of a kind band. No-one to compare them to. They stand alone.

First saw Yes during the Relayer Tour (right after Wakeman left and Patrick Moraz stepped in). Truly one of the best shows I have ever seen. After the opening number Anderson asked the crowd to sit and enjoy the show AND THEY DID ! In one unified movement the entire crowd on the floor sat down and stayed that way the entire concert. At least until the encore (Roundabout) . S a w them again during the Union Tour (what a show THAT was) and then again for the 30th anniversary of Fragile LP.

Chris's passing was a hard blow to all who love this great music. But what a legacy. I was fifteen when I heard the first YES album in 1969 at a friend's. I was hooked and heard the drummer I most admired and wanted to emulate. 47 years later and few equaled and only King Crimson surpassed. Great band

A bassist / drummer I named my son Christopher/ Alan . Started playing bass in 79 and met the band at their rehearsals for 90125 .thru a sound man 's friend who worked for Clair bros . Sound who had a rehearsal warehouse in lititz pa. I was 16 and then saw the tour at the spectrum in philly a week later. Been an avid lifelong fan that's seen them 8 times since and crushed this year by my idol's passing. Thanks billy sheerwood for doing the job great and to all yes fans .... Keep on listening a

Yes and Beatles...my 2 favorite bands. Great Variety in styles of music. Chris Squire was the main reason I drove 600 miles to buy a Rickenbacker 4001 stereo bass just like his in 1976. I never saw them until the summer of 2014 with Jon Davidson and Chris was still amazing. The rest of the band was great also. What a show. Their music lives on and ABWH is a great representati o n of that music. Wish they were touring so I could hear Jon Anderson sing.

I was born in 1982. Ever since I was a little boy my dad played Yes all the time and I got hooked on all Yes albums. I love the style of music they play and the sounds of the beats. It hits in the heart and you feel what they are saying when sing. I can feel it for real and I would like to thank my dad for letting grow up on the band call YES

First saw them in New Jersey in 1972 - it was spectacular. Here's to all: Jon, Chris, Rick, Steve, Rick, and Bill. Will always love them - they were my first and last, Long live YES

Yes. Seen them three times. First time in 1975 in Chicago. Blew me away. Now Chris is gone. They were the BEST pro-rock ever

Poor old Jon ruined his perfect voice with too much marijuana, I think. When I used to smoke, my voice was different to! Where's Steve? I love you!!

Moodiesfan.a a , I don't know how long you've been listening to YES or other Prog Rock bands, but I promise you that Jon Anderson's voice is far and away the best male voice you will ever hear. No one comes close to his range or sound. I've been listening to Prog Rock for 40 years trust me Jon is the best. Best female singer? This isn't close either. It's Annie Haslam of Renaissance . If you've never heard their music, check it out.
