Apocalyptica were initially comprised of classically trained cellists

Man, ANYBODY can tell you, there's something freaky about cellists.

Brenna I have always found it fascinating when classical tunes/melodi e s or variations on a theme are used in metal. Flight of the bumble bee was from The tale of the Tsar Saltan. That is an interesting piece. I am bias casue I love the minor keys. Another one is Wagner's Flight of the Valkyrie. About the 8 Valkyrie sisters who transport the fallen heroes to Valhala I think. There are so many.

I remember being a kid in music class. Everytime you had a birthday you got to choose a song to play. Everyone chose this song. Except, in the classical sense. It's nice to see it updated.

Laura and monkies4girl z are right. It is a song by Edvard Grieg done for Peer Gynt. It has, however, been used in many many things today. It has been used in trailers such as Tim Burton's Corpse Bride, Beetlejuice, Bride Wars, and Night at the Museum 2, as well as others. It has also been remade by several other artists. On a side note, Flight of The Bumblebee was created Rimsky-Korsa k o

Might be from the Nutcracker.

And this is, without a doubt, the most awesomely metal thing I've heard (this week).

Even more awesome because it started playing during a DwarFort seige.

Nope, not Flight of the Bumble Bee... can't recall the actual name but one thing's for sure, it's f*ckin' BADASS!!
Report as inappropriate
It's a classic holiday song, and featured in a lot of movies and the such. Apocalyptica just made it about 100-300% more badass.
Report as inappropriate
this is flight of the bumble bee but after some english guy remade it into a different song and then apocalyptica got around to makeing this song
Report as inappropriate

I loved the original classical piece this is based on, and I love this metal version. (Lets face it, some old classical music was pretty darn metal for it's time).
