I've always thought it was funny how people use songs to direct a guilt trip toward someone else. Usually the guilt is their own. I also think Bob didn't write this song thinking everybody would be stoned out of their gourds and singing along. I'm sure it was directed to someone at the time it was written, but I guess popular songs take on new meanings when the masses get a hold of em. Who knows, maybe he was thinkin of Papa Was A Rolling Stone or The Rolling Stones. Laced with sarcasm one
Fussy fussy fussy. Dylan sings. He hid for years. He does very little now. Treasure what he has done. Listen to the lyrics of this song. Think about the times when he first sung it. Screw that fussines. Enjoy. Bob won't live forever....
Maybe he just gets tired of doing that song over and over-but he's allowed to mumble and change the lyrics if he wants because it's his song! I've heard Van Morrison mumble some of his as well...
It sure sounds like he forgets some of the lines and tries to mumble through them...but it seems unlikely that Bob Dylan is going to forget the lines to Like a Rolling Stone.
