They used this in Chips Ahoy! commercials back in the '90's. My daughter (then a baby) LOVED it! P.S. I never knew the name of this song either! Now I do! :D

A classic! I've heard this song many times before but never knew what it was called or who did it.

This is from Monsters Inc I think? A different version but same theme when they are beginning a day of work on the scare floor.

Gene Krupa rocks!

For many folks this song is the Swing Era triumphant. Interestingl y , several musicians in the original Goodman orchestra that recorded this track grew tired of the song, even disliked it. If you look at the Goodman discography post Gene Krupa's departure in 1938, the song virtually disappears from the Goodman set lists until Sid Catlett comes on board in 1941. Later, Goodman would admit that Sing, Sing, Sing was like the National Anthem, it had to be played.

Four thumbs up, booyah!

Sing, Sing, Sing was a head arrangement; that is, it was created through jamming and experimentin g until Jimmy Mundy finally wrote it all down. In Part 1 (what would have been the first side of the 78 RPM Victor record), there is an interpolatio n of the song, Christopher Columbus. Part 2 has the great Harry James solo. Krupa is awesome, of course; but, the trumpet section of Harry James, Ziggy Elman and Chris Griffin really are the ones who give this song its gritty, dirty sound.

The rockin'est song in classic swing -- and one of the most fun pieces of music I know.

sing sing sing is a classic, the second you hear the beautiful notes invade you ear drums you cant help but tap you feet... and if you can help it then you are obviously not worthy to engage in such musical expertise! Awesome!

Sing, sing, sing is the all-time-gre a t e s t swing song, arrangement and band (Benny Goodman). Very surprised to learn who the composer was (Louis Prima). Close rivals are woodchopper' s ball (Woody Herman} and In the Mood (Glenn Miller)

this is my favorite version of this song - the horns (especially at the beginning) are smokin'!

First drum solo ever. Thanks be to Benny Goodman for putting Gene Krupa in the spotlight here.
