too fast?? You're right, everybody should play it EXACTLY the same as to not be able to tell the difference between performances . . . *rolls eyes* learn what music is all about
People who complain about tempi on Argerich's version have not listened to the entire recording--I have, it fills a treasured slot on my CD shelf. This is who Martha Argerich is--it's as much a function of her personality and her view of the music. IMHO, the greatest pianist of the late 20th century, she was the sole and only true heir to the Russian virtuosic school of Rubenstein, Rachmaninoff and Horowitz. There is no one else like her--her performances are sui generis.

An annoyance that Pandora doesn't list out solo instrumental i s t s . I agree that this version is not the appropriate tempo.

while technically amazing that someone could play the rach 3 sooo fast, it's feels like an out of control race to the finish line.
messy performance, like a wild rodeo -- the piano and orchestra can't seem to find each other or stay in rhythm with one another
