The Big Bopper was the first "Rapper" because Chantilly Lace sounds like what they call Rap Music these days,at least it does me. Just my opinion.

I remember the big flood that hit our town of Wilbraham, Mass, the Connecticut River overflowed and we were stranded for over a week, and the radio played on, and the Big Bopper's Hit ChantillyLac e played at least every hour as we sat and looked at the rain coming down, listening to our favorites on WHYN. I'd watch my bro and sis bop the living room floor, and being the youngest I could just tap my foot to the music of Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis, Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens singing, Donna. Duri
