Probably the best Blackmore's Night song, mostly because Candace Night didn't write the lyrics (she's awful) and Joan Baez did (she's not awful). I've heard this song was originally written about Bob Dylan. I LOVE the lyrics. And Candace has a pretty enough voice - this is about as good as she gets, so enjoy!

I agree with mlevy5 two comments down. I was a HUGE fan of the original version by Joan Baez - I don't think this rendition puts JB in a corner - it is however, a wonderfully stylish version. and, YES!!! The female artist should be aknowledged! ! ! I even ordered the CD from Amazon!!!
Oddly, the only other version of this song I've heard is by Judas Priest in the early '80s.

Wow! What a beautiful rendition of Diamonds And Rust. Who was the singer? She put the original version sung by the author in a corner. The quality of the vocals and the outstanding clarity of the guitar work intertwined to bring back memories of a love singular in one's lifetime. This song strikes at the heart and the soul. Amazing!
