A Portland-based group originally comprised of singer/guitarist Israel Nebeker and drummer Ryan Dobrowski, Blind Pilot strikes a balance between mellow folk and West Coast indie pop. The two co-founders first banded together in college before combining their talents and touring the northwestern Oregon circuit. By 2006, however, they'd decided that a change of scenery might help their songwriting. Blind Pilot consequently relocated 90 miles north, where the guys spent three months inside an Astoria warehouse while recording demos for a full-length album. Afterwards, Nebeker and Dobrowski launched a "bike tour" that saw them traveling from Vancouver to San Francisco via their bicycles, playing shows and selling EPs (not to mention saving gas money) along the way. They returned home to finalize their 3 Round and a Sound debut, which was released by Expunged Records in June 2008.
While playing shows in support of 3 Round and a Sound's release, Blind Pilot added four new members to the touring lineup. This swelled the band's sound, making 2011's We Are the Tide a more fleshed-out, lush affair ~ Andrew Leahey, Rovi
Pandora brought me to Blind Pilot through Josh Rouse and Ryan Adams stations and many thanks are in order...they are simply great. Hope they come to Boston!

Just saw them again. Amazing! They played some songs by moon light in a clearing in the woods by a creek in Big Sur. (You should have driven down after work, it was worth it)
I discovered this band through Pandora and have been hooked ever since.. I'm hearing that they are great in concert.. I really hope I get a chance to see them.. Thank you Pandora!
Saw their show in their hometown of Portland. During their finale they sat along the edge of the stage then had everyone in the audience have a seat as well. amazingly enough everyone sat down then blind pilot did an acoustic sing along with the entire audience joining in. SIMPLY AMAZING! i've never heard of a band doing that before.
I love you people...such a better atmosphere than...well I admit...I went to evanescence to hear my immortal which I understand is a crap shoot to hear the song you want on pandora...but in no way would I be willing to buy the album...hello, I just wanted to hear the song...anyway, the comments are so much more enlightening here...(not just talking about the grammar and spelling) reminds me why I love independent artists, and the like, peace people...someone should contact me livt2007@yahoo...cu
After hearing them on Chuck, they jumped into my top 5 bands faster than any band ever has. Seeing them in Milwaukee this summer was such an amazing experience, and showed me that top 5 just isn't a good enough ranking. They are truly an incredible band with an honest sound and amazing vocals. I hope to see many more shows and will continue sharing their music with all of my friends.
Saw them in Philly back in March. They were fantastic. Such a great sound. Love Israel's voice.

Blind Pilot was at the Firefly festival in July, and they were absolutely fantastic. In concert their sound is very moving and beautiful, definitely a special and talented group of people.
I liked them a lot a lot before Lawrence but after that show, they are cemented in my top 5 forever. I'm really sorry you had to miss. It was one of the best concerts I probably will ever see.
