Blue Murder features Carmine Appice on drums, John Sykes of Whitesnake fame on guitar, and Tony Franklin, who played with The Firm, on bass. Great supergroup playing some heavy riffs and nice, blues-influenced hard rock. Melodic but not too soft. ~ Robert DeFreitas & John Book, Rovi
Clearly Skyes was responsible for Whitesnake's success (Still of the Night, etc.). The sound is here. Tony Franklin makes it even better with his fretless. This band is a gem full of amazing musicians. Sykes and George Lynch -- my two favorites.
Sykes is awesome, rocking guitar shredder. Helped put Whitesnake on the charts with the American redo of slide it in and 1987 album. Sad that union was too short lived tho.

Sykes: the best of rock guitarists! Blue Murder would've been a household name, but a story I once heard mentioned being "blackballed" by a certain prior bandmate that fired him from the band they were together in... . Hmmmm?...
I LOVE John Sykes! Coverdale was an idiot for firing him from Whitesnake. He's the whole package. Looks, sings, excellent guitar skills. I wish he'd do another project of some sort.
Great band. Sykes is awesome. Wish he would do some more stuff. He was supposed to be forming a band w/ Mike Portnoy, let's hope that actually materializes. There's also a live Blue murder album that pandora doesn't have listed but I think it's only available in Japan. It's called Bad Boy Live, I believe.
Sykes is a tone monster on his black Les Paul! He has a style all his own. As a musician I could pick his riffs out of a mountain of imitators. He also has a awesome set of pipes on him and a good songwriter also. Why Blue Murder wasn't a bigger household name is quite a mystery.
this band was in my opinion whitesnake part 2 thanks to the same sounding guitar playing of sykes. I am not knocking them, because they were pretty good, but you just have to wonder what would have happened if he never left whitesnake.
John Sykes created one of the best rock bands of the nineties with Blue Murder. This band was under-appreciated in a commercial sense. Due to the ignorance of the American listening public, Blue Murder is no more. Shame!

I have everything from his solo career and Blue Murder. I wish they had more.
