When Dylan released Blood On The Tracks I was mesmerized by Dangled Up In Blue and Lily Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts. Desire didn't exceed Blood on the Tracks but it was a hell of a follow-up. I could listen to Hurricane all day long. What a gem. I actually think the live version from the Rolling Thunder tour was better.

Great song but Ruben was pretty much a dirt bag. He also was already washed up by the time he was arrested so the couldve been champion of the world not so much. Nonetheless, the guy went to prison for something he didnt do.

Dylan's version of events illustrated in the song is grossly inaccurate! For example, Ruben Carter was NOT the number one contender for the heavy weight crown that year. In fact his career was in serious decline. In 1963 he was 3rd, by 65 his record was 7-7 and he had fallen to 5th, and a few short months later in May 66 he was unranked!! And these are many more distortions that I would invite you to investigate. No doubt a good song. But just another instance of liberal propaganda promoting the

Dylan not listed as the writer? The music sounds like Jimmy Buffet deep into a 70s style set, far out, man.

This song is pure genius.

Wow, this song is pretty amazing. I'm not usually a fan of songs that deal directly with a particular current event, but this one manages to succeed as music in addition to making its point. Love the fiddle.

You can hear Dylan's contempt in his voice, and that really makes the song.

now that's a song right there!
