Don't just play movements of a symphony. Play the whole thing

It's all been said about the music, I just wanted to add that that cover art is magnificent, too. Listening to the music and looking at (almost meditating on) the photo is slowly bringing tears to my eyes.

I just saw Les Miserables (calling it Les Mis cheapens the impact of the story) and this could be inserted directly into any part of that show without anyone batting an eye. Dvorak should b listed as a co-composer.

It's amazing all the things modern composers will take from another (far better) composer... Does no one have their own imagination anymore?

I feel like some kind of super scientist when I listen this while working out equations, it's like I'm discovering something new and remarkable when I get the right answer, like I deserve a Nobel prize for doing my homework!

Williams definitely ripped this off for Jaws, Raiders, and Star Wars. However, when I here the theme of this piece, all I can remember is NFL films. Makes me smile.

There is a menacing power, a sense of profound loss, speed, excitment,an d overpowering associated with this track - both elated and yet fearful - like a runaway train exploring the bounds of a new track. The movement from force to melencholy juxtaposes a sense of loss of innocence with the rising powers of the modern world.... Forceful, dynamic, powerful - a well-written shade of the coming New World indeed wth all the excitment and danger of new discovery.

The first time I heard this was when the Seika Girls HS (from Japan) did this in 2005 at a California marching band contest. Awesome marching arrangement, but even better in its original form.

You can see the influence of this symphony on the film scores of John Williams. Star Wars anyone?

Scott Guber music from Boston Public!

I absolutely HATE it when orchestras slow down the Allegro final melody at the very end. It ruins the entire thing
Report as inappropriate
True. This is a combination of Lord of the Rings and Ludacris's opening track on the album "Word of Mouf" called "Welcome to America"

I gained alot of respect for Luda when I heard him incorporatin g Dvorak into his rap beats. uksoccer91.. . A m e n .
