British singer and guitarist Chris Rea enjoyed a run of popularity in Europe during the late '80s and early '90s after almost a decade of previous recording. Rea started out performing with a local group called Magdalene, taking David Coverdale's place; the band won a national talent contest in 1975 as the Beautiful Losers, kicking off a fairly high-profile U.K. career. ~ Steve Huey, Rovi
Chris is one my favorite unheard of artists, wink wink. I was hoping to see Nothing to Fear on here and pretty much his entire album portfolio so I can build my collection up.
I got into Chris back in the late 80's. Some of the best times of my life associated with his music. Some of the best driving music ever!! A true hidden gem!!
Love Chris Rea! He's got an amazing voice! Fool If You Think It's Over is, and will always be, my fav Chris Rea song. And, thanks to Pandora, I've fallen in love with his other amazing songs. Where's he been all my life?

I first heard Chris Rea in Birmingham ( UK ). I got some tickets from a friend and thought I was going to see Chris De Burgh! I`m glad it was Chris Rea who since then has been my favorite singer/musician. I play him almost every day. He is truly great!
One of the world's great musical secrets. Gets no airplay in U.S., but that's of no note since I quit listening to the radio 15 years ago. Too much talk, too little music. Road to hell, Stainsby Girls, Working, Let's Dance. Amazing on the slide. Love his attention to social consciousness, which is probably one of the reasons he doesn't get much radio airplay. Pity.

I used to listen to Chris Album On The Beach as I drove through the Midlands and Wales when I was stationed in England in 86. Awesome driving music!
A recent discovery for me--don't know how I missed him back when. His music has a lot of variety, and I like all of it...the rock, the disco-style, the blues, the jazzy, the sweet. The instrumentation and arrangements are creative, as are lyrics. A very talented man.

I have nothing to say...Chris speaks for himself, yes?
cris rea is on of my favorite artists reminds me of when i was a teenager , first startin to listen to music smokin a little weed with frends and gettin introduced to classic artists such as him self , I have to say I love most of his songs , lets dance , julia , josephine i mean the list goes on, when this guy came out with a greatest hits thats excatly what it was
Chris Rea has got to be the most unique sounding singer I've heard. Nothing to complex but just different enough to be attractive. Fool (If you think it's over) is an example of a simple song but has a quality that draws you in, just like his voice.

my mommi loves his music, she thinks it sounds amazing, and she thinks im the best daughter ever = )
An early date with my now wife was to see Chris Rea in London. It was the mid 1980's and we both had failed marriages behind us and each had young children. Chris's music has featured throughout our life together. Our children grew up to Daytona, The Road to hell and Let's Dance. They've all grown up and left home home now, but I still have my Stainsby Girl.
Check out the video of 'Nothing to fear'. Simply outstanding, especially considering the state of the world today, Be sure to note WHEN this song was created.
