New age composer/multi-instrumentalist Chris Spheeris began writing songs on his guitar as a teenager. Inspired by the sacred and folk music of his Greek heritage and other world music, classical music, and pop, Spheeris fused these elements together into his own unique musical style. The folk aspects of his music were prominent early in his career as part of a duo with guitarist/composer Paul Voudouris in the '70s and early '80s. After they disbanded, Spheeris began to create a more complex, keyboard-based sound, which he documented on self-produced demo tapes. One of these demos found its way to the A&R department at Columbia Records, with whom Spheeris signed a deal in 1985. The label released his debut album, Desires of the Heart, and Pathways to Surrender before he left in the early '90s to form his own label, Essence, which released most of his solo output and two reunions with Voudouris: Enchantment and Nothing but the Truth. Along with his solo albums, Spheeris has also composed scores for cable and public television documentaries. He released his Higher Octave Records debut, Dancing With the Muse, in early 2000. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi

Love Chris' music! If you want a real treat listen to Pathways of Surrender - its a true musical journey.
Yes, Patmarz ... about 'Europa' I found all of his CDs in Sedona, AZ where he resided and I was visiting early 90's. His music can take you places ... someplace healing, playful and full of life.
I first saw Chris in 1980 playing at the Blue River Cafe (now defunct) in Milwaukee. He and Paul did amazing folk/pop music and the provocative lyrics have remained with me even today (Searching for the faces of Eve; Chessboard; and the tunes from their two albums from that period.) I have loved their instrumental s , but I miss the lyrics and haunting music of that periodn not to mention their hila

Chris Spheeris is the best new artist I've heard in years
I've been a fan of his music for nearly ten years. Great background for ballroom dance, also.
Chris is an aquaintance of mine from Sedona, Arizona. He is a wonderful being with such talent and sensitivity. I look forward to hearing more new music soon and hopefully run into him on my frequent trips out to Sedona.
Chris is a new discovery for me. I literally stumbled across it while listening to another Pandora product, and almost imm. felt a connection - centering and relaxing - sometimes even exciting, depending upon the instruments used. I often put one of his cd's on as I climb into my nightly bed, flag it for repeat, turn it down just low eneough, and fall off to sleep with it. If I awake during the nite, it helps me 're-center' and fall back to sleep. Grateful to have discovered him even at 60 y/o!
I have had the privilege to work with the music of Chris Spheeris. He graciously agreed to license his compositions as background for the Public Television series THE ARTISTS WORKSHOP produced by my late wife 'Chace' and myself. I never have gotten tired of Spheeris's music after hearing it over and over, and over again during editing, and I still enjoy it almost every day. I am lucky to know him personally. He is truly authentic, appreciating all forms of art, intelligent, and kind. Rick Balch
There is no one in the world like Chris Spheeris. His music will delight you, inspire you and leave you wanting to listen to more. I have enjoyed his music for years and the wonderful thing is that you never tire of listening to his unique compositions that are each and all, direct from his heart.

It has been exciting to watch Chris Spheeris' music grow in depth and meaning from his earlier works on Desires of the heart to the rich complex sounds of Enchantment.
