The Corrs

Comprising three sisters and one brother of the Corr family, the Corrs blend the music of their Irish background with contemporary pop/rock and occasional use of synthesizers. The quartet formed in 1991, and was confined to regional popularity in Ireland until 1994, when the American ambassador to the country invited the Corrs to perform at the 1994 World Cup in Boston. The attraction led to a support slot on Celine Dion's 1996 tour. The Corrs' debut album, Forgiven, Not Forgotten, became internationally popular, but nowhere more so than their homeland, where the LP's four-times-platinum status made it one of the most popular debuts by an Irish group. ~ John Bush, Rovi

Like Abba, this is a group that will be appreciated more in the US long after they have stopped recording. It takes us a while to in this country to really appreciate talent.
I like every song they do, was blown away first time I heard em on a morning show. That family has some major talent. They are in my top 5 favorite bands of all time and all genres, and equal with the other 4 in that list.
The first album was amazing and beautifully written. I don't think anything they've done after has come close.
All that matters is they are from Home!
Check out Sharon Corr's 2010 import cd Dream With You at Amazon.com. This is a 'must have' for all Corr's fans!

I'm in my mid-50s, and the Corrs are one of my Top 10 all-time favorite groups. Terrific harmonies and their musicianship may even be better than their singing.

In a day and age where bands are more about image than substance (especially here in the states)these four are so refreshing. I have loved them for years. I have not had a favorite band since...Lord , the 80's? It is nice to have one in this day and age.

I prefer to listen to celtic punk like Flogging Molly and the like, rather than groups like The Corrs, but a few of their songs are really ace I think.
