Wow takes me back my senior year. The best one they recorded out of many great songs. They should be in the rock 'n roll Hall of Fame

In my opinion, The Cures best piece. Everything about this song is perfect.

In a darken nightclub. Lights flashing. 20 years old. Dressed in black. Sometimes alone or with an unknown partner. I danced this song, over again.

Fitting to have released that single in October. I tend to enjoy a bit of goth myself during that month.

Last thing I'm going to post about this. Charlotte Sometimes was recorded in July 1981 and released as a single in Oct. 1981. It failed to make the original release of Faith. It has appeared on a number of albums since including the live Paris album released in 1993 not 2004(must have been a re release). As noted below it is in the discography on the remastered Faith album. Have a nice Day and happy researching lots more about this wonderful song.

Going on and stating the obvious. It's on this New Waves LP. However if you look at the image of that LP carefully it says below the album title '45 Original 45s From The Post Punk Era and shows the dates 78 through 82. This narrows it's release as a 45RPM single from that time frame.

Concerning the origin of Charlotte Sometimes. I don't know when it was released but it is the last track on the remastered 2CD Faith album and shown as a single. That's a clue that it may have been originally issued as a single in the early 80s but didn't make the original LP Faith. It also appears on the live album Paris dated 2004 but not necessarily recorded then.

have been a fan of the Cure since 1982! I had the great opportunity to watch them live a few years back - they did a 2-1/2 hour show! This band will always be timeless in my book.

Not sure when this song came out, but it's my favorite song by The Cure. I do know that it is based on the book "Charlotte Sometimes" by Penelope Farmer.

Beautiful song. The minor key, synths, lyrics and Bob's voice combine to make something otherworldly .

Agreed on both counts ...

This has to be one of the sexiest Cure songs out there.
