dvdfan2k- do YOU care to take another guess? He wasn't talking about this song exactly. I would look it up before you accuse others of being wrong when you're the one that's wrong.

Metalmaster - seriously? It's called Vivaldi's Winter. Care to take another guess?

Possibly, one of Dark Moor's best.

I can't remember if this is Bach or Beethoven

@JT try apocolyptica or epica

I thought thats presto from summer movement, not winter. And actually i still think so, so either artist doesn't know what he is playing or its badly named in pandora.

My computer's run through a line out to an external speaker, and the speaker times out and shuts off to save power after a certain length of silence. So if I'm not watching the stereo when this is playing, it turns off on me *just* before the piano bit comes on. :(

@Persephone a band called nox arcana has an entire album dedicated to Edgar Allen Poe and his poems, they're orchestral but a very good band (not to mention I love orchestra) and their quite dark as well, u can check them out on their website: noxarcana.co m

Kind of odd for this to come up on a classic rock station, but it does sound vaguely Queen-like so I'll let it stay.

I wish I could thumb up a song more than once.

Sweetness.

i love this track

I hadn't heard them before, but liked them. A technical note: some timing problems within the shredding, really minor, though, mostly sixteenth notes before and/or after the beat. Good stuff.

its cuz tso is dark moor.
Report as inappropriate
Sounds totally like trans siberian orchestra.

At Vance did Summer.

Actually wait out the long pause. There's piano at the end that is just beautiful.

Where can I find more stuff that blends together classical and metal? This is awesome stuff!
Report as inappropriate
Why the hell was there a long a** pause in the song? I thought my speakers died..still a good song
Report as inappropriate
song rocks my socks lolz
Report as inappropriate
song sounds alot like stratosphere by stratovarius
Report as inappropriate
actually, Five Iron Frenzy did a song called That's how the story ends which uses snippets from The Raven as verses. not really metal, but Ska, and good ska.

Bleed in the name of IAm for his name is that which carries the Power of Creation. He has already won the War, Mark.

Great stuff. Reminds me of Trans-Siberi a n Orchestra's work from Beethoven's Last Night album. If you like this, check out Danny Alkana's "Rock the Bach" album as well.

I've always said Heavy Metal is the new classical. Having litened to both genres intently, from Bach and Vivaldi to ManoWar to Lamb of God, I can confidently say this song is yet more proof to my theory.

ManoWar did "Sting of the Bumblebee" on their Kings of Metal album. One should check that out.

Bleed in the name of Satan.
