Daryle Singletary

Neo-traditionalist singer Daryle Singletary was among the brightest new stars to arrive on the contemporary country scene of the mid-'90s, winning fans with his simple, honest songcraft and distinctively gravelly vocals. Born and raised in Cairo, GA, he grew up singing gospel alongside his cousins and brother, and while attending high school enrolled in a variety of vocal classes; after graduation, he worked at a tractor dealership before relocating to Nashville to pursue a career in music. In Music City, Singletary frequently shared open-mike stages and amateur showcases alongside fellow up-and-comers like Tracy Lawrence and Tim McGraw; he eventually found work as a demo singer, recording the track "Old Pair of Shoes" for an independent label. The song made its way to Randy Travis, who decided to record it himself while recommending Singletary to his management team. In short time, Singletary signed to Giant Records, and in 1995 he released his self-titled debut LP, scoring the smash hit singles "I Let Her Lie" and "Too Much Fun." The follow-up, All Because of You, appeared in late 1996 and generated the hit "Amen Kind of Love." Singletary's third album, Ain't It the Truth, was released in early 1998, followed by That's Why I Sing This Way on Audium Records in 2002. It would be five years before his next release, Straight from the Heart, appeared in 2007 from Shanachie Records. Rockin' in the Country was released by Koch Records in 2009. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi

So nice to hear true country songs and a voice to go with them! I love his music! I had given up on todays singer's. I don't get their style so imagine my pleasure when I heard him sing!! Keep it up, please! We need your music!
Don't read this because it actually works. You will be kissed on the nearest possible Friday by the love of your life. Tomorrow will be the best day of your life. However if you don't post this you will die in 2 days. Now you've started reading so don't stop. This is so scary post this on five other songs in 143 minutes. When done press f6 and your lovers name will come on the screen in big letters. This is so scary because it actually works.
A raw distinctive down home natural country voice, right up there with Keith Whitley and Mark Chesnutt
daryle singletary is real and true country he is one of the best singer he is not like todays country you may say today country is more rock and rockabilly i call today country garbage it fall close to crap i meen rap if you want real country you need to play Keith Whitley mark chesnutt tracey lawrence george strait Alan Jackson meral hagger gene watson jeff bates conway tiwitty george jone kenny chesney and singer that play real and true country we need to get back to some twang and bring back
This guy is a true country singer unlike most of the so called country singers of today we need many more of them back but still love country music regardless.
Daryle is one of the best country singers i have ever heared and i actually got to go up on stage with him and he said this song is for my buddy kegan hacker the note and i love that song.
Daryle is under recognized and under promoted. I don't know how the industry chooses who to push to the top- but it missed this guy. He has a deep reaching voice.
I love the way Daryle sings the old violin,Ilike his better than Johnny singing it.
thackeray
I agree with hblee67
I LOVE the way he sings "The Old Violin."
Daryle is a strong voice like is mentors Hag and Conlee!!

That's a real country singer. I hate most of the excrement that comes out of Nashville these days.
The answer simple, the big record labels have determined they can sell more music from bands like Rascall Flats than they can from real country artists like Daryl Singletary. All we can do is support the artists that are playing country music and boycott the others.
Daryle recorded a song that was also a video about "God making an angel" or something to that effect???? What album was this song on.or was it a single? He has an excellent voice, so pure and 100% Country--I don't understand Country Radio not embracing him.
PLAY MORE OF DARYLE Singletary < that's good country> along with GENE Watson,Lefty , B i l l Anderson ,Stonewall . Older country is where it's at !!!!
Amen, Granny Gail
Sounds a little like Keith Whitley, so I guess that makes him a good singer
he has a nice voice..
