You see, there's 7th grade who despises us (we despise them) but 8th grade hates 7th grade and they think we're just great! So we have these fundraisers, and we tried so hard to beat 7th grade… when my best friend found out that 7 won, she could have screamed, I mean we are very competitive with eachother.

HaHaHa! Sounds like so much fun! We are very competitive at my house and school. It's not even right ;)
Report as inappropriate
Oh that's hilarious! Me and my brother are pretty close, too, but we are quite competitive like Legolas and Gimli
So we have a great time =)

One time I even got him to dress up like Snow White :D

Oh my goodness, same! My brother and I weren't friends at first then (get this!) we started playing Star Wars mini figures together, and we began to call each other best friends
Report as inappropriate
Lol! Those two are absolutely hilarious!! They remind me of me and my brother...

I think it's a tie between him and gimli

That's right- nobody!!! Lol yeah he's my favorite lotr character

I think that you beat me with last names on that one. NO ONE can beat Greenleaf;)
Report as inappropriate
That's so cool! Can you imagine having that last name?!?!
Though I'd prefer Greenleaf as my last name lol
Report as inappropriate
If my last name was Arkenstone, I would definitely fight for the precious stone
Report as inappropriate
The strings are awesome! I love LOTR and the hobbit! Plus POTC(look at my profile name) hold it........ His last name is Arkenstone! I would love having that last name! Wow! Love this song so much

HOLD THE PHONE !!!!!!! His last name is Arkenstone !?!? WOW !

No matter how ironic it be that David's last name is Arkenstone, I'm pretty sure that his last name is truly Arkenstone, and he did not just change it for this song.
Report as inappropriate
trishcolver i think its a name he gave himself, like writers do.
Report as inappropriate
Is it just coincidence that his last name is Arkenstone?
Report as inappropriate
Personally I think the second half is the best, but both are good. Both are good.

Far over the misty mountains cold.
To dungeons deep and caverns old.
We must away, ere break of day.
To seek the pale enchanted gold

The dwarves of yore made mighty spells
While hammers fell like ringing bells
In places deep, where dark things sleep
In hollow halls beneath the fells

For ancient king and elvish lord
There many a gleaming golden hoard
They shaped and wrought and light they caught
To hide In gem on hilt of sword.

Love the strings! Though I've got to say I still prefer the original. And is his last name seriously Arkenstone?? (I love it)

Am I the only one that finds it ironic that a guy named Arkenstone is doing songs from The Hobbit?

The full song is 27 verses in an AABA rhyme scheme ending in iambic tetrameter. Fan version of all of it on YouTube http://youtu . b e / M E 5 u r F B f 0 k k

Love this song..... It's better in the movie though. I want to learn the violin part on my cello
Report as inappropriate
@bluray--It' s not a good version for the movie, but the violin piece is an excellent addition. This is more entertaining to listen to than the original.
Report as inappropriate
does any body know all the lyric if so please post them on my profile i would greatly appreciate it

It's hard to compare the two. This version, while more pleasant, is a bit too contemporary and isn't being sung by Thorin and Co. so it feels unoriginal and somewhat stale.
Report as inappropriate
it is like so relaxing and it has a pitch that vibrates the whole room

i love this song
