Daylight

Doylestown, Pennsylvania quartet Daylight formed in 2007, a quartet that would model its heavy songs after '90s grunge, '80s D.I.Y. punk, and a smattering of early emo/post-hardcore bands like Quicksand. From its beginnings, the band consisted of guitarist/vocalists Taylor Madison and Jake Clarke, bassist Joe Kane, and drummer John Bowes. The band's recorded output consisted mostly of EPs in their early years, with a demo issued in 2008, followed by the Sinking EP in 2009. Also in 2009, Daylight toured regionally and managed to do a stint of shows in Australia as well. Amid constant touring both in the States and Europe, Daylight issued a string of further EPs including Dispirit (2010) and The Difference in Good and Bad Dreams (2012). Bowes was replaced by new drummer Zack Robbins in 2012. Their first proper full-length, Jar, arrived in 2013, sounding like the heavier side of grunge acts like Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, and early Smashing Pumpkins, complete with angsty breakdowns and creepy vocal harmonies. The grunge revivalists changed their name to Superheaven in 2014, and although their moniker might have changed, their sound remained the same, with nods to bands like Nirvana and Soundgarden still intact. Looking to reintroduce themselves to the world, they reissued their full-length debut, Jar, under their new band name in 2014. The following year saw the band ink a deal with Los Angeles-based indie Side One Dummy and release Ours Is Chrome. ~ Fred Thomas

Seriously one of my favorite bands on earth!! Saw them play and I fell in love. I hope I can see them live again. The whole album, jar, is so great.
