Bringing the flair of prog rock to the crushing grind of '90s metal and industrial, Deadsy released their first album in early 1997. Later in the year, the band guested on the Gary Numan tribute Random, contributing Numan's "Replicas" to the proceedings. Commencement was supposed to be released in 1999, as well as a new home in the form of Korn's label Elementree. But the album was inexplicably pulled from release while the band continued to try and promote themselves through touring. Successful appearances on several high-profile tours and bills kept the band busy, but minor problems with both the lineup and their website plagued the members as the album continued to stay unreleased. Finally, in the summer of 2002, Commencement saw release with a heavy emphasis on their connection to Korn. Phantasmagore arrived in the Summer of 2006. ~ John Bush, Rovi
Phantasmagore is very good, but I think I prefer Commencement slightly. If you like one, you'd probably like the other, though. I'd pick it up, because it will probably be several more years before you see anything new out of these guys, unfortunately.
I love both Deadsy albums. Just wish there were three or four of them by now.

Deadsy is great. And Elijah's solo project Elijah Blue and the Trapezoids should be an interesting listen....if they ever materialize and put out some music.
wheres Tamara? lover of all things Deadsy........these dudes are doing something different which is cool in itself but the music really sets different moods
I am a hard core metal head but I dig these guys. I love both albums and I'll be buying the next one, if there is a next one.

Eh, they're okay... seems like they're still trying to figure who or what they are. Are they goth, industrial, etc.? Maybe they're trying to be everything all at once, reaching for mass appeal and broad demigraphic. *shrug*
So for those of you who couldnbt find the cher connection, one of the band members of the band is Greg Allman's and Cher's son, i think the lead singer. These guys are almost all ivy league musically educated du to their well-off parents. Very insightful lyrics about your Id and the Hittite cultures and much more. Listen up
Deadsy is one of the more underrated bands that combine hard rock with modern electronica influences. First time listeners should preview their tracks "The Key To Gramercy Park" "She Likes Big Words" and "Babes in Abyss".
