Not a bad cover, and not a bad song, but it gets old when you've heard five different versions of it over and over and over...

The orginal Skynard version is the best. Of the covers I have heard, Shinedown's is best of them, but still not as good as the orignal.

I would've never known Stephen could solo if I hadn't heard this track (never done it on a deftones track before). Altho I'm a little disappointed he didn't do his own thing; it's practically an exact replica of the Skynrd solo.
I really like it alot more when deftones sings is..lol sorry skynard.
For an overplayed song that I hear every time I go to a bar, this is at least a little different. The original is good, but I'm so sick of it.

I thought this song sounded a lot like "Hollow" by Pantera, until I realized that the original version of Simple Man was recorded 19 years before "Hollow." Both are great songs, and I like this cover as well.

This song has a special meaning to me, having grown up with the Deftones and all. It's amazing their ability to get beyond the quarrels, and the b/s to still create great music.
