D.I.

Essentially vocalist Casey Royer surrounded by an ever-changing lineup of sidemen, D.I. got its start in Orange County, CA, in 1982. After honing his chops as drummer in the original lineup of Social Distortion, Royer put together D.I. and released their first self-titled EP soon after. A 1984 appearance in the Penelope Spheeris film Suburbia gained the band notoriety, and further credibility was established when ex-Adolescents guitarist Rikk Agnew (also of the original Social Distortion) joined in 1984. Their first full-length, Team Goon, was a reissue of the debut EP with extra tracks. 1985 saw the release of the follow-up, Horse Bites, Dog Cries, which is considered by many to be their best work. Agnew departed the lineup in 1987, just prior to the band's third, What Good Is Grief to God?, which saw the light of day in 1988. After the band released 1989's Tragedy Again, the band went quiet, not resurfacing until the 1993 live release Live at a Dive. State of Shock was released in 1994, but the band broke up the following year. In 2002, Royer reactivated the D.I. name, with a new lineup (Chckn and Clinton on guitars, Eddie Tater on bass, and Joey Tater on drums) and the compilation Caseyology. The band continued to tour during the first decade of the 21st century, but had not furthered plans for a new studio release. ~ Christopher M. True, Rovi

If you Knuckleheads were really Hardcore you would know that the Bio is correct! Poser's.
Yeah some of the bios are terrible.

Um, wasn't Casey the drummer for the Adolescents? I never heard he was in Social Distortion, but I remember staring at that crazy eyeball photo plenty as a kid: http://punky g i b b o n . c o . u k / i m a g e s / a / a d o l e s c e n t s / b l u e _ l p _ 1 9 8 1 _ b a c k . J P G

Most of us knew Casey more for his work with the Adolescents, which gave him the cred to do DI.
D.I. del mar skate ranch, all about the same time.... miss you all...
The original $5.00 post paid album I mail-ordered from D.R.I. IN Texas (not D.I.)was probably one of the best investments I've ever made if you take interest into account. V.F.W. show in '84 in Minneapolis opened my eyes.

r the Taters from Aversion???
D.I. rocks.

D.I. to me was a huge influance to west coast punk rock. I saw them in 1988 at the V.F.W. in Phoenix az. I will always remember that show! Istill have that show flier. SK8 or DIE!
D.I. is the best punk band ever!
Wow, I saw DI probably 16 years ago at the old showcase theatre in San Diego (before they made it a parking lot!). A bunch of my friends and I rolled up to the show from a free in-store by RebelRebel who were playing a free instore at Blue Meanie recoreds in El Cajon. RR were throwing around a bunch of pig guts and we dutfully saved a bunch to bring to the show. We lugged them 20 miles on the SD trolley, but security at the showcase wouldn't let us bring em in. oh well-- Gypsy BC
DAGO?? F*&% Dago, You must be one of them Hillcrest Gangsters
the classic O.C. punk rock band. The lastest album, On the Western Front, is a slice of 1980's SoCal punk delivered on 2000's plate. Great stuff. Still tourring, just caught them this summer in Denver.
Hard driving punk rock. Vocals you can hear and understand. Sing-along brothers!!

Leaving a COMMENT is a great way for one's self expression.. . . P h i l l y blows... surfing in H.B. does suck to....SAN DIEGO BABY!!!! skate hard and surf everyday. f**k everyone else
Seen them every time they come to Philly to play.
Under-rated. As good or better than many more famous punk bands of the era and today. Richard Hung Himself and On the Western Front are classics.
Wow sounds a lot of Suicidal Tendencies.

DI is the most awesome punk band ever. Shout out to Casey!!
