Just because they expressed their Freedom of speech doesn't mean the rest of us have to shut up. We all have the freedom as US citizens. I use my Freedom of speech to express what I think of their opinion. I express my feelings with my $$ also, which does not go into supporting them or their opinion.
An anthem for social justice and freedom. More importantly though it is a sad reminder that words have a lasting impact both for better and for worse. Perhaps this song is reminder that we could all stand to be a bit kinder to one another.

love love love love love this song and many others by them
I love the Dixie Chicks and sure wish that they would come back. I could care less what every one else thinks about their views. We live in America they are allowed to have their own point of view. This is what we have fought for in every war we have ever had it is called "FREEDOM OF SPEECH".
nothing left for me to figure out....i'm not ready to make nice!

I like their music and this is a great song. They have every right to say what they believe. Freedom of speech. With this right are reprocussions that you take when you call your President stupid when your standing in a foriegn country. Then you return home and call Country music listeners hicks and stupid.
God Bless America for Freedom of Speech.

I don't usually follow politically based squabbles, but I like this song and think makes a few very good points.
Freedom of Speech applies to public and private speech. They had a right to say what they did and more people should have done the same instead of expressing their dissent in private. Maybe he wouldn't have been in office for 8 very long years. I love the Dixie Chicks and thank them for making me feel like I wasn't the only one that hated Bush at that time.
SOME PEOPLE SEEM TO FORGET THAT WE ARE AMERICANS AND NO MATTER WHERE WE ARE WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO SPEAK YOUR MIND (IT'S CALLED THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH JUST IN CASE YOU FORGOT!!!) SO IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT SOME PEOPLE HAVE TO SAY YOU CAN SHUT THE TV OFF, TURN THE RADIO OFF OR LEAVE THE ROOM..... Thanks to all the people like the dixie Chicks for using the freedom of speech and god bless the troops may they be safe and come home soon....
i like the Dixie Chicks music, they a song for every occasion and feeling. I think ppl should forget the whole "we hate bush" thing, we have a new president now so people should just get over what they said.
They dont have to be sorry. They shouldnt be. I'm glad they don't like Bush. Who does?

Speak for yourself. Not "EVERYONE" would have said the same thing. Some people have the common decency to support their president in public (in a foreign country no less)and disent in private. I have no problem with what she said...just where she said it.
