@coolbob1.... Yeppers, sure is. I've seen Henley do it live, but you're right. Hornsby has a 'sound'. The only keyboarder that actually sounded like him was (gag, puke) Christopher Cross. And this song is one oe Henley's best solo recordings...bar none.
coolbob1
Is that Bruce Hornsby playing the piano ? It must be...or his style clone.
Sad lyrics- love the Hornsby piano. Quit the politics, the song is what it is, about love and all things pure, but one day we realize that those are just tales told and we lose our innocence of youth.
After commenting I saw all the BS politics talk. All I can say is that the economy sure was better under eight years of Clinton than it has been since he left office. Coincidence? Probably not... Peace!
I love The Eagles and Don Henley's solo stuff. Can't say the same thing about The Beatles. Love the Beatles, but I don't like that much of their solos stuff.
I'm afraid this song may be true and more true as each day goes by. We all need to lighten up and realize that it's about love, and growing that love inside of you.
Tony, please read up on your history. This came out in 1989, and was in reference to Reagan and the failed 8 Republican years in the White House. Henley is a Democrat, yes, but Clinton wasn't even on the map at this point.
music like this was popular in 1992 around that election. But what did Bill Clinton actually do for the poor and unemployed-send more of their jobs to Mexico!
