It is taking longer than expected to fetch the next song to play.
The music should be playing soon.

I wait on my rainbow UNICORN as we ride into the sunset of the universe that leaks hope and the time of unknown people............ when listen to this song ofcourse!
This is a partial version from the "Apocalypse Now" soundtrack. When I finally snap and run through the jungle with a machete and my AK-47, this will play in my head while I slaughter you sheep.
Typical neg. comments from people who don't know what the hell is going on. It came out on the 1967 album and was the Doors version of "drug rock" If you only remember it from Apocalypse Now, you are too freaking young to be commenting on classic rock. So, if you like the movie version, go buy the bloody soundtrack. Geez!
The added sound effects are just an instance of self-congratulatory masturbation by the sound engineers. Pretty bad. The original was better.

yeah I wonder where they got the **** track too

Interesting version. Wonder where they got the f**k track. It was definitely not clear on the original mix. And the helicopter intro is Apocalypse Now, not Doors.

This is in my opinion Jim's best vocal- there's just something particularly beautiful about it. Until it goes all strange at the end, that is.
Agree with Cheeba and then some: this version is B.S. Actually it's take right from the soundtrack of "Apocalypse Now" right down to the helicopter sound in the beginning. AN is a great flick, but this version of the song has no business being passed off as the original.

I think I like the other version of the song better.
it's good exept i don't get what the hell is going onm in the end of 'the end'

I'm gonna repeat the complaints of others: This is NOT the version from "The Best of...". The real, original version of The End is the version that should be played.
Why do they show they credit this song to The Best of the Doors when it's not the same version that's on that album? If it's on the apocalypse now soundtrack why not credit that?

This version is from the Apocalypse Now Original Soundtrack, not the Best Of album.
I, too, would much rather have the original, album version. The extra effects at the beginning and the way it cuts away to jungle sounds halfway through are definitely a detraction. And then the entire refrain at the end is missing. Why mess with greatness?
IMHO, this version needs to be re-labeled for the album on which it actually appears. I own "Best Of", and this version is NOT on it.
Where the H--l did this mix come from?Hey J nickle ,A mix is what we people who know something about music call the final version of a song (MIXED) from the MULTITRACK RECORDING. AND THIS IS FAR FROM THE ORIGINAL ONE ! SO BEFORE YOU GO CALLING ANYONE A DUMBASS, Please KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. I suppose you were born in the 80s or 90s ,so what would you know about classics anyway? I agree with pandora44276.Thanx chc7 .
