The U.K.-based power metal sextet Dragonforce formed in 1999 around the twin-guitar assault of Herman Li and Sam Totman, keyboard player Vadim Pruzhanov, and the powerful vocals of ZP Theart; drummer David Mackintosh and bass player Adrian Lambert joined the lineup later. Dragonforce had already toured with the likes of Halford and Stratovarius before the release of their debut, 2003's Valley of the Damned. The success of that record earned the melodic rockers a worldwide audience, resulting in a string of sold-out concerts in Asia and Europe. The group's sophomore effort, Sonic Firestorm, was released in 2004, followed by Inhuman Rampage in 2006 and Ultra Beatdown in 2008. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
Wanna listen to a band that has kick-a** instrumental sections, yet sound just as good live? Listen to the band Necrophagist. Especially their album Epitaph.

they kinda sound like crap live though. @carnalmindstudios, you are absolutely right.
Hahahahahahahaha! Yo carnalmind, you play all the guitar leads to 20 dragon force songs live. Lets see if you can do it. Then you can talk smack. Considering the complexity of their songs, they sound pretty darn good live, and im not even a big fan of DF.
carnalmindstudios
terrible live, its amazing how much a studio can fix
I first heard about these guys on a guitar hero game and their son through the fire and flames and I and many other people could'nt believe the lightning fast speed of Guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman these guys have been my Favorite band ever since that song and I can't wait to get their new album The Power Within Herman Li himself said it has their fastest song ever on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didnt think it could get any faster! and the album will be released April 25th 2012 I CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!
I myself absolutely LOVE these guys! Every member of this band puts so much effort into their music and it pays off. I mean, who doesn't love this band here? Their music sounds the same but who cares? They're awesome overall.
You know, I really like them as a technical band. I mean, they really play well. The only problem is that they have no passion or fire. I mean, they don't have the sheer fury of Napalm Death, nor the grand tragedy of old Nightwish(f**k new Nightwish), or the straight up primal power of punk bands like the Cro-Mags. They just don't seem to have any passion. But s**t can they play their instruments.
The thing you must admit is these guys' talent. You might not like this type of music but they sure play damn well. The speed and skill... It is far beyond what most people can do. Fire and Flames is personally the best example of their music - fast paced, alternating beats and well placed vocals. All in all a very good band.

i swear these guys probably play a lot of old school D&D just listen to it you can hear it who ever writes the lyrics shoul just write fantasy novels XD. In all seriousness they are great
Dragonforce is probably my favorite band. I got hooked on to them from Through the Fire and Flames by playing Gh3, but i ultimately like the drum part. I have a set at home, and it presents a good challenge when trying to copy Dave Mackintosh's drum part.
they are great in concert!!! Even an old person likes

pretty much studio band unless you can catch them at a small energetic venue...otherwise aweful as far as skill is concerned but great for really any video game :D

God, who could not LOVE these guys? their skillz are amazing, their lyrics are so corny and uplifting, I just can't help smiling wide at every one of their songs. Critical people, go listen to classical music. This stuff is for fun and people who wanna have fun. I know I enjoy them immensely, they totally rock. :DDDD
I don't have anything against DF, but let's face it they had one good song (Through the Fire and Flames) and that was it. Plus a lot of their songs sound the same.
People talk a lotta s**t on this band, but you simply just can't deny their talent. And live, yeah they have click track and a sample recording on each song, but they play the solos live... all of them. Not perfectly to a tee mind you, but think of the composition. It's an a** load of memorization and highly technical solos! Who can pull off fire and flames live? Not many, Dragonforce can. You try it... seriously. Hahaha
This group has full respect by me... cant really say I like there clothing designs but it is awsome how fast they can play without major editing... Though they arn't as good in live apperantly there still really good edited or not.
Plenty of people listen to live music. It's not for us to judge. Wether you listen to live or studio music, it's your taste. Kinda like sex: do what you like. Just don't share it cause someone well peg you on it :-P
I could care less if they suck live....like all music, when I'm driving down the road, I'm listening to the studio recorded version...when I'm at home, I'm listening to the studio recorded version, etc...

In all seriousness they are great
@josh mortensen, the irony is, they play with a few less beats per measure.
@imabuttonpu s h e r , that would be very amusing to watch...
