The Dynamic Superiors

This Washington, D.C., quintet signed with Motown in the early '70s and found limited success on the soul charts. Though not as vocally dynamic as the Temptations or the Four Tops, they were excellent showmen with energetic and inventive choreography. They were also unique in that they sported a gay lead singer who often did his shows in drag. ~ Rick A. Bueche, Rovi

Some of the greatest performances I ever saw, they were apart of! Lived in Miami in the 70's and saw them with the Commodores! After they left the stage, almost half the audience left! Incredible act!!

I loved the Dynamic Superiors Use to wear their album out!!! I was born and raised in San Francisco, gays in those days were the norm.
I grew up around the corner from the members, and they were blessed to get picked up by Ashford and Simpson;our neighborhood was filled with great success stories, wher e a s we had The Unifics, The Choice Four, The Fawn, Terry Huff ,Al Johhson(form a l l y with The Unifics), Van McCoy(of the hustle era, Billy Stewart, Osiris,Skip Mahoney and The Casuals, and The Stridells ...WHAT AN ERA, WHAT A TIME !!
I had the pleasure if growing up with the group, i lived across the street from them and toni the lead singer was the best friend i ever had RIP Toni i miss you. Talk about some good old days!!!!!!!
The lead singer's name is Tony Washington. My wife & I saw them live in Detroit at a Club on the West Side. Great show! And we still have that album cover somewhere in our house.
One of the original members of the group work here at the building I work in. He never talked about being in this group although we have had numerous conversation s of the last 17 years. He just recently left in December 2012 because he is now ill. When I found out he was in the group, I Googled them and although I'm old enough, and from Detroit, I don't remember them or the song. However, I love it and have added them to every soundtrack media I have.
