This is definately GREAT music even though most people consider it (pardon the pun) HIGH BROW as I believe they intended for listeners to be in an altered state of consciousness.Which I would of been had I heard it years ago but still appreciate great music today.Bach would have approved ,I know he would.
I am ELP fan and this is the first time I've heard EGG..sounds good!!!!.. fyi..most of ELPs earlier extended works were written as solo piano pieces...

Egg was one of those third-tier UK prog groups you NEVER heard in the US. Fruup, Greenslade, Curved Air.. It's great to finally hear all this stuff!
Hey B, that was some sound reasoning. This confirms the multimentional insight of prog diehards. Pandora's really opened my eyes to cutting edge fringe bands.
This is why I don't like normal people. Normal people don't get music like Egg ("too grandiose and challenging to garner a mainstream audience"), so it never gets popular. That means that the awesome people (like you, if you're reading this) have to dig harder to find awesome music. Thanks, Pandora, for playing bands like Egg!
Terrific stuff!! I pride myself on being familiar with most prog rock bands, even the more obscure stuff. Egg is new to me. I will be listening more for them.
Biography mentioned Dave Stewart, but not KHAN with Steve Hillage. Despite some lame reviews I read, this one LP band was quite good. Still get goose bumps when I hear their songs.
I have looked for this one on the web but I can't seem to find it, if anybody might know where to find "The Civil Surface", "Egg (70s)" please e-mail me, Thanks!!!
