Toronto modern hard rock quintet Evans Blue came together around 2003 after its members found each other by chance through a local musician's message board. Comprised of vocalist Matisyn, guitarists Parker Lauzon and Vlad Tanaskovic, bassist Joe Pitter, and drummer Darryl Brown, the group signed with Pocket Recordings in 2005, entering Pocket Studios with Trevor Kustiak (Cool for August) soon after. The result was their debut, The Melody and the Energetic Nature of Volume, jointly released in February 2006 by Pocket and Hollywood Records. A spring tour supporting Taproot followed, during which Brown left unannounced, to be later replaced by Davis Howard. In July 2007 the band's second album, The Pursuit Begins When This Portrayal of Life Ends, hit shelves. The group's eponymous third album, which was the first to feature new singer Dan Chandler, was released in 2009. The band's fourth studio outing, Graveyard of Empires, followed in 2012. ~ Corey Apar, Rovi

However if you don't post this you will die in 2 days. Now you've started reading so don't stop. This is so scary put this on at least 5 songs in 143 minutes. When done press f6 and your lover's name will come on the screen in big letters. This is so scary because it actually works

I'm a big old E|B fan, and gave the new singer a shot. I just don't like their songs or his voice. He sounds very bland, almost monotone to me, and the music seems watered down.
What a big mistake kicking out Kevin as his unique voice and style is what made that band who they were at that time . As for the new singer he is good also but it's like buying a mustang 5.0 and dropping a 4 cyl in it .... Just don't have the same power anymore !
I have to admit, I do enjoy the new lead singer but the band just does not sound the same. Their style of music, the vocals and the meanings behind the songs, everything is different. Both the old and new are great so, even with the changes, I will stay a fan.
I think both the older singer and new singer sound pretty much the same. Dont get me wrong, I like both singers, but I think the newer stuff is better than their older stuff, with the exception of Cold one of my favorite Evans Blue songs.
I've seen a ton of comments on this band and their past that just aren't true. Kevin did not leave the band they kicked him out (in my opinion-the dumbest f'ng move ever made by a band). I don't mind the new singer but, he's run of the mill. Kevin has a unique voice you don't find every day. Beyond this Parabell existed b4 Kevin, it's just better with him in it.
I absolutely loved E|B when Matisyn was the singer. I did not care much for the self-titled album released with their new singer in 2010. Their newest album, Graveyard of Empires is absolutely badass.
too generic. now i understand a band has to have a lot going for it to set themselves apart from the plethora of other washed up sounds out there. but this band, though solid as far as sound. doesn't have it.
I followed the lead singer Kevin Matisyn when the split happened to his new band Parabelle. He made Evans Blue different than anything else out there. E|B isn't terrible now...they just lack that originalit y it used to have. I recommend checking out the band Parabelle if you like the 2006 and 2007 E|B albums.
Loved Kevin's voice. Met them when they did a CD release party in Widsor, ONT back when I lived in Detroit..all great guy's and i still have a picture of Kevin and I and love their music...not diss'n the new guy, but you know how it is when you replace someone in a band, especially the vocalist...not the same. I listen to the old stuff more often and every once in a while throw in the new one. Really you could do a lot worse than Chandler and again not a dis, because he is good but Kevin's voice

I think the music is better with the new band and overall I like the new stuff better, even though the vocalists sounds like every other singer out their,
I think (not certain, I don't see what every song I listen to is on Pandora) 'Say it' is all I've heard. The band is pretty good, but I can't take the singer. I think he has a speech impairment. It's like Mike Tyson singing... if he could sing in key.

Sorry...I meant to say Darryl Brown as the original drummer....
jlmc0523
I just want to know where the original drummer is today ??? Danny D.....the man can groove...
funny thing is everyone is listenin to chandler, tryin to be a critic. stop tryin to criticize and listen, listen to parabelle if you want matisyn,if matisyn wouldnt of left evans blue, parabelle wouldve never happened
chandler is an awesome vocalist, matisyn made the band but everyone expects chandler to fill his shoes! he cant do it because they have different sounds. stop hatin on chandler,i dont see yall havin a record deal!
The band is still strong without Matisyn. Most of the third album's songs were written before Chandler was in the band. Regardless, the album is still amazing and I expect no less from one of the most amazing bands in the world :) please, don't ever stop making music.

Yea maybe the music was done but most people listened to Evans Blue for Matisyn's lyrics and vocals.
