The Exploited are one of the U.K.'s most politically outspoken thrash bands. Based in Edinburgh, the band is led by vocalist Wattie Buchan, whose supporting cast has changed several times since the group's inception around the end of the '70s. The band has garnered a sizable hardcore audience in the U.K. for its anti-authoritarian stance and criticism of the government, particularly in the Reagan/Thatcher era, but their following is not quite as large in the U.S. and has declined somewhat in Britain over the years. A medley of three of their songs, recorded by Slayer and Ice-T, was featured on the Judgment Night soundtrack as "Disorder"; subsequently, the Exploited issued 1994's Live in Japan and 1996's Beat the Bastards. F**k the System followed in 2002.~ Steve Huey, Rovi
more than a thrash metal band The exploited sound as a Hardcore band. They started of course playing pure punk rock but their influences from Metal music made them became a more Hardcore punk band, but never pure thrash.
i love these guys first few albums, but i'm not gonna lie here it went down hill from that. "way" down hill, to say the least. i mean, some of this s**t sounds like screamo, i mean seriously. -
and i feel like if it wasn't for bands like this singing that punk isn't dead, than no one would have ever brought up in their arugments. so stupid.
I saw the Exploited in Chicago back around 1990 or so. Good show, small venue, but plenty of fans. Still one of my favorites, just sad to see they aren't as reknowned as lesser pop groups.
anyways GREAT BAND and who cares if so and so thinks they sound like so and so? I'm pretty sure all that matters is whether or not YOU like it, if you do turn it up and if you don't turn it off.

Sorry to rant but people getting nostalgic about SKINHEADS @ shows seems a little out of touch to me. To be succinct THE REAGAN YEARS SUCKED! Why the f*ck do you think there was so much great punk from those years? Because everyone was PISSED OFF! And of course its just my opinion but F*CK right-wing conservatives who used to be "punk" I think their brains got brittle from lack of exercise and "returned to the fold" to be hypocritical morons before the god of their parents choice and vote w/dad

man I miss the good old days, of skins and sharps, jocks and rednecks, (this is DRIPPING with sarcasm btw) anyone that goes (or went) to shows (or anywhere) to get drunk and beat up smaller less aggressive nonthreatening people was/is and probably will remain a f*cking waste of oxygen. ESPECIALLY when these same f*ckheads back down from a one-on-one fight and wait to jump people later with their 4 or 5 guy advantage.-continued-
I cut me off. Under it read "Punks dead and your next". The kids today have no idea. Those that know and remember will absolutely understand and agree. PUNK AND PROUD !!! OI !!!
Has nate tate says "Remember when punk was scary". I remember it well. You always had to watch your back. Punk and Skin gangs were very close knit, a family. We looked out for one another. Friends literally died for their beliefs. Their was the OI Punks and Skins and we stuck together. There were these other bald bastards runnin about but they weren't OI, they weren't Punk, and most certainly not Skin. They even had shirts with a headshot of Wattie with a gunsite over it and under it read "Punks
johnmorley99- Combichrist is NOTHING like The Exploited, you tool!! That's like saying Vince Gill is similar to Henry Rollins or some other horrible comparison. CC and The Exploited aren't even from the same country- there's nothing at all similar between them besides both bands kicking a**! They'd both probably kick your a** for making that comparison as well!
