Formed from the ashes of Texas metal outfit Embodyment, Dallas' (and New York, in the case of one member) the Famine fully embraced their love of southern metal (Pantera, for example) and released the debut album, The Raven and the Reaping on Solid State in 2008. From their re-formation to the time the album hit the streets, the Famine -- Chris McCaddon, Mark Garza, and Andy Godwin -- would find themselves shifting from a musical reunion of friends to a full-time, full-on recording and touring outfit by 2008. ~ Chris True, Rovi
In your face metal..I like this band..lets play air guitar.
nausticwaste
Great band, I love the message... and those who have Jesus problems... sorry that your so stubborn. You yell at Christians for being judgmental... your being just as judgmental. So honestly we are all hypocrites!
i like raven and reaping alot better than the new album. That first album has a more groove oriented PanterA feel to it, the new one....eh....run o the mill death core...
Well they only had a few songs done when the studio burned. But those were mainly with Chris as vocals and he is no longer with the grioup so things had to be redone anyway. They will be recording in the same studio that pantera used.
well trevor i do actually thats why i listen to christen music for the message inside it i was talking about the people who believe they are better than everyone else because they are religous
i agree wtih baron music IS art religous freaks get over yourselves your no better than me or anyone else just listen to music i hate all these religous debates just listen to the music, metal is supposed to be a culture of people joined together who share a common interest Metal! not religon, Music you know that thing with guitars and drums and vocals yea that stuff
Oh and all you Christians that think this band is good has ANYTHING AT F**KING ALL.....to do with the fact some of the members are Christian....or thier on a "Christian" label....or thier considered a Christian Metal band...NEED TO WAKE UP.
Your holier than thou, this band is "fighting for christ" nonsense is hilarious.
You should be embarrassed.
Its music, music is ART.....leave religion out of it.
The legend of man in flesh and blood
Built for war, cut from the stone
You want to walk the ground and claim it
Get in the trenches, you can't fake this
You want it? Come take it!
Talk the talk because talk is cheap
Bark with no bite, a dog with no teeth
ive long been a onlooker of some of solid states bands but this is one of there elite and yet they only have 1 album its great and actually they arnt specifically christian the members are but the band is just a band yes some songs have christians themes but not all but anway a great band i love the vocals!
You bible thumping "Christian Metal" nerds crack me up.
Its music, its metal - just relax.
"a fight for Christ"......Jesus F**king Christ SHUT UP!
What does it matter that thier Christian or not, they rock. Thats all that matters.
You know, probly 99% of the fools that call themselves "Christian" would make Jesus friggin puke. Conservative Hypocrites that would rather see drug addicted babies in broken homes than stem cell research helping people.
FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Christian band with a sound like old Slipknot. Not the new stuff. More like Wait and Bleed by Slipknot but thays why theyre so awesome. the whole cd at once thoughgets a little dull and boring but little by little it is sooooooo good!
I am obviously the big "super fan" for this band. Or super dork.....I dont care. I love em.
THere like PanterA with a slight bit of Prog metal (ala -Mastodon) but heavier than both those bands.....some serious death metal here.
I really, really like this bands sound.
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuk this band is killer.
The sample in the last track of the famous 60's activist movement is amazing, it gives me goosebumps. Its so anti establishment, so truly "raging against the machine" its sweet.
