Sleazy Hollywood metal band Faster Pussycat (whose name was lifted from a Russ Meyer flick) released their first album in 1987 and peaked commercially two years later with the gold album Wake Me When It's Over and the Top 40 single "House of Pain." Although their next album, 1992's Whipped, hit number 90 on the charts, it fell off quickly; with the alternative rock explosion, the hard rock audience had changed and had no patience for Faster Pussycat's trashy glam metal. After the group's split, singer Taime Downe formed the industrial-goth outfit the Newlydeads (along with a former member of another former L.A. glam pop outfit, Bang Tango's Kyle Kyle), issuing three albums -- 1997's self-titled debut, 1999's remix collection Re-Bound, and 2001's Dead End. With America experiencing a resurging interest in '80s glam pop by the early 21st century, Faster Pussycat reunited for a tour. But instead of an album of all new material coinciding with the tour, a collection of old tracks remade as techno remixes was issued, entitled Between the Valley of the Ultra P**sy (Downe was the only member of the band to have any input with the project). The band's first ever live release, Front Row for the Donkey Show, arrived in 2009. ~ John Book & Greg Prato, Rovi

Too bad for grunge... these dudes were just gettin started. Kobane, tut. Like that crap if u want. Metal still rolled years after the wheels came off. F pussycat is proof.
faster pussycat was a damn good band but house of pain is a ballad not really metal but still love it ballads or metal the late 80s and early 90s still rock for me.
faster pussycats first album is one of the greatest rock n roll albums of all time... song for song all the way through this album kicks a** not a bad song on it
Wicked good s**t! Check out Bang Tango if you dig this.

Makes me remember Gazzari's & the CatHouse. Good times. Always plenty of hot tramps (not a slur ladies, that's what they were) at their shows. Alcohol, sleazy rock n roll, mini skirts & push up bras. Who can deny the 80's rocked!?
I just saw these guys last week here in Dallas. They still sound great, still perform well and are still releasing quality tunes. Don't miss 'em if they hit your town.
The video for "Don't you Change that song". is awesome. Love the top heavy babes. Obviously HUGE fans of Russ Meyer. As am I.

This band ROCKS!! Being a child of the 80's I can say that this band and Zodiac Mindwarp were two of the best even thought bands like Motley Crue & Metallica seemed to be the rage at the time. Give me off the wall over top 40 any day. At least Faster Pussycat didn't sell out. Nessuno si preoccupa piu, you obviously don't get it.
yea seen them few times back in 87 89 at a place i worked at..cool guys fun times. went on the bus outback and got high as hell.rockstars get the best drugs lol...wake me when its over was really great disk..saw them now yup its over..
Yep, loved them since '87. Bathroom Wall is a timeless masterpiece, lol. Just saw them at a s**tty bar in Iowa not too long ago. Their new stuff (not on here yet) is pretty good actually.
I like this band. They do many things right and are brilliant in not over-achieving. Like the Black Crowes, they groove to an older sound without sounding like they're trying to hard. I dig 'em.
