@wonderwall135: It might remind you of Nine Inch Nails because Richard Patrick was a touring guitarist for Trent Reznor's project before founding Filter.
LOL. I always thought they were saying "Amen Nation".

i think michael moore used that footage of the dude shooting himself in his people-getting-shot-montage in "bowling for columbine". oh, wow. i just outed myself.i watch michael moore movies. yep, that's me.
Great song! My 1st taste of Filter back in the summer of 95 which was a great year for rock! I remember this song being on an X-Files episode about this kid who'd kill people with lightning that he could control. I must say it fit that episode perfect! Good stuff here!
The song became notorious, as it was believed to be honoring the January 22, 1987, public suicide of Pennsylvania state treasurer Budd Dwyer; Dwyer had been convicted on bribery charges in December of 1986, received a massive sentence from U.S. District Court judge Malcolm Muir and, professing his innocence and decrying the legal system, shot himself during a press conference with a .357 Magnum. Google it. Pretty whack story.
To ally: Dude had a break down on a plane stripped down butt naked and everything. Followed by rehab and shrinks. It totally robbed him of his edge. Check out his song "Take a Picture", thats what it was about, and you'll notice the change in tone. In the metal world, some just can't keep it going when they get clean and/or sane.... ~sigh~

it could be argued that public suicide is a good method of protest. for some, sure get rid of them right? lol. what about suicide bombers? kamikaze's? terrorists? I say, hey man nice shot. try not to make a mess next time.
