Led by songwriter Michael Fitzpatrick, Fitz & the Tantrums brew up a retro sound inspired by Motown and Stax Records. Fitzpatrick initially formed the Tantrums as a neo-soul solo project, having purchased an old church organ and found that it helped inspire his songwriting. While recording a solo EP, he recruited an old college friend, James King, to add horn arrangements to the material. The lineup grew from there, with the Tantrums eventually becoming a coed septet. Songs for a Break Up, Vol. 1 marked the groups first release in 2009, and Fitz & the Tantrums headed to South by Southwest the following year, stirring up some industry buzz in the process. In 2010, the band returned with its sophomore effort, Pickin' Up the Pieces, featuring the single "MoneyGrabber." ~ Andrew Leahey, Rovi

Brilliant band! My 12 year old found these guys before I did. Still not sure which makes me happier, finding this great band or my daughter's taste in music...

Saw them on a repeat of Daryl Hall's show and am a convert. Noel is stunning for her vocals, personality and looks. The horns are great and Fitz has a nice strong voice.
Incredibly talented, and stunning to hear perform live. They're so humble about it, too.

This band is boss!!! The best and fantastic live. Am I the only one who hears Cornelius Bros. and Sister Rose, Looking Glass, Chicago, and Blood, Sweat & Tears? Whatever their influences, Fitz and the Tantrums are great.
I was hooked when I heard L.O.V. and Money Grabber. Saw them on Darryl Halls show and knew I had to get some of their stuff. I would love to see them live. I really like the whole soul revival thing.

Have seen them twice in NYC. In LOVE with their sound.
I saw them at Temple University at their Spring Fling with Daryl Hall and Live From Dary's House. They were awesome. Seeing them again on Dec. 30th at the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City... Can't wait.
