Eugene, OR-based art-metal trio Floater was formed in 1993 by singer/bassist Robert Wynia and drummer Peter Cornett, who'd previously teamed in the group Henry's Child; recruiting guitarist David Amador, they quickly recorded a six-song demo that caught the attention of indie label Elemental, releasing their debut LP Sink in 1994. Glyph followed a year later, notching a major local hit with "The Sad Ballad of Danny Boy"; production issues delayed the release of Floater's third album 1998's Angels in the Flesh and Devils in the Bone, and a year later the group released a live record, The Great Release. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi
I've followed Floater since the begining, and even shared the stage on tour with them a few times, Never seen a bad show, never been let down. I feel as if wherever I am theres a Floater song that relates. Kinda like the soundtrack to my life. Rob, Dave, and Pete are all killer guys as well. The most unique group I've ever heard.
This band will never let you down album or concert wise. I've been to near 20 shows in Oregon and have never walked away disappointed. I saw NYE show in my hometown EUGENE! and they played 2 full sets and an encore all for 25 bucks. Such a sweet band. #1 ON MY LIST
I have seen Floater live more times than every other band put together. When I finally heard a song come on Pandora I about jumped out of my seat, I was so excited and surprised. Please, guys, put more of of the music that has been such a big part of so many of our lives on Pandora! While I have my mp3s with me everywhere I go, having the songs stitched into the stations I've created has been something I've dreamed about since I discovered Pandora
I've loved Floater for many years now and will listen to them any chance I get. I was psyched to read the comments by the many fans that praise their music. I'm always thrilled when they come to my hometown. They are literally my favorite band.
I've submitted a request to Pandora as well as Floater themselves to publish more content on Pandora. If YOU want to hear more Floater here, push the band to submit more media to the site. Only Floater themselves can add the content. Love floater and want to hear all the songs on Pandora!
Floater = Rock n Roll. Phenomenal lives show, high energy and incredibly tight beats and clear vocals.

I have seen them as often as possible, and no less than 30 times. I use to plan my vacations around there CD release shows. Their newest album Wake is amazing! My favorite band of all time, hands down. One of only a hand full of artists that I can honestly say I have loved EVERYTHING they've put out! If you haven't listened to their full catalog of songs, do yourself a favor and spend a few days listening - and listening again. Truly an EPIC band. Thanks Rob, Pete, and Dave!
YOU MUST LISTEN TO F-L-O-A-T-E-R!!! The Great Release is a showcase of their ability to rock the (bleep) out of a live show. Do yourselves a favor, and see a electric and an acoustic show back to back before you die, 'cause you will!
Floater is one of my favorite bands. I have seen them 20 or 30 times in the last 9-10 years. Their CORRECT discography is:
Sink (1994) Glyph (1995) Angels in the Flesh and Devils in the Bone (1998) The Great Release (Live) (1999) Burning Sosobra (2000) Live at the Aladdin (2001) Alter (2002) Acoustics (2004) Stone by Stone (2006) Live Acoustic at the WOW (2008)
One of the last times I saw them, they were talking about a new album in the works and soon to be out. I can't wait. To all the Floate

Floter will be at Hells Kitchen in Tacoma on February 19 2010
I tried doing a search on Pandora for these guys awhile ago and got no results. To bad more people haven't heard of them. This is one of the few bands that actually got heavier with time. Love'em. Y am I not suprised that Pandora doesn't have their first album listed in the discography? I think it was self titled.
A friend of mine turned me on to this band and i couldn't be happyer. They are from my area and they play music i love, "there's a gaping hole inside of me, so i just keep pouring wiskiey in but its not fillin" that line is something i lived my life by befor i new of Floater, now it still stands true.
i was lucky enough to be told about this band from a friend of mine i met in like, the 7th grade....he moved to South Carolina from portland and told me and my friends about this band...been one of my favorites ever since....i only wish they would tour nationally....gotta travel way northwest eventually to see em live
seen these guys live at least 30 or 40 times in pdx between 1996 and 2006. even sent me a copy of Acoustics when i was in africa for a bit in 2004. one of my favorite bands of all time. and they love us. if they were in it for the money, they could have gone that way a long time ago. see the lyrics to Hollywood. along with We're All Gonna Die on the east coast, Floater is metal gold, buried deep in the underground. rob is one of the best bassists of all time, up there with burton and claypool.
Floater is by far one of the greatest "undergroundish" rock bands out there. Excellent live performances, deep story-telling lyrics, and intense energy in everything they do. I've seen both the electric and acoustic sets. Each thing they put out has its own unique style. i put all of their albums on shuffle and get a different feel with every song . One of my top 5 all-time favorite bands!
Every single person who has left a comment so far knows what they are talking about. Trust me. Floater is the best modern rock band there is. Their songs actually have depth, and meaning. I often compare them to a modern/heavy Pink Floyd and The Doors. SEE THEM LIVE IF YOU CAN!!!

I've been a fan of Floater since the days of them performing at the EMU Beer Garden on Friday afternoons. Definitely worth paying attention to, and if you get the chance, well worth the price of admission to see.

Greatest band no one knows about! Best live performers I've ever had the pleasure of seeing....
