Hailing from the Bay Area, singer/songwriter Forest Sun combines storytelling lyrics along with such varied musical genres as folk, rock, country, and even funk. A self-proclaimed vagabond at heart, Sun has made fans in both Europe and the U.S. (touring both countries throughout 1999 and 2000). Forest Sun has issued a pair of albums thus far, Not Afraid and Plenty, both of which were issued on Sun's own indie label, Painted Sun Records, and drawing comparisons to such acclaimed artists as Paul Simon, Ricki Lee Jones, Lyle Lovett, and perhaps most chiefly, Van Morrison. ~ Greg Prato, Rovi
Absolutely love his music! Gotta love the banjo :) Such a rich, folk sound.

Met Forest on a 2005 trip to India. A beautiful man with a heart full of songs. I remember him singing at dinner and with a group of monks in a Temple ~ I loved the way he made himself a partner and friend wherever he went. It doesn't get any better than that.

WhatDo you think he sounds like a younger David Bromberg voice?
Saw Forest and Ingred play live in Novato, Ca on Monday. They really sounded great (even including the silverware precussion session provided by the wait staff!) Hope to see them getting back here sometime.
This is true, but since the U.S. is twice the size of Europe and states such as California and New York have bigger econmies than most European nations, its a fair comparison in a lot of ways.
