I also miss old genesis but being a musician and drummer (roots from drum & bugle corps) I like a musician to put their own stamp on a piece. Daryl did a good job. Also, no one mentioned the expertise of the drum of Chester Thompson and Phil Collins. Their AWESOME!!!

I never heard this rendition. When I heard Lamb after the intro, this girl went airborne.
Phil's voice is strong on this medley.

Got to agree with stegor1. While Daryl Steurmer is a phenominal guitar player, he should have treated one of Genesis'(hec k , rock and roll's)great e s t guitar solos with respect and played it as close to Steve Hackett as possible! I'm not saying play it EXACTLY like Steve, but to shred like Yngwie Malmstein on it was uncalled for and way over the top! That's all I'm gonna say about this medley. Saw them on this tour and was grateful to hear at least some form of these incredible classic songs!!!
I like this medley Genesis are an incredible band, they are a band that always sounded better live than they did on record and that is saying alot for a band that made incredible studio records - most bands that came out in the 80s and 90s and even in the last 10 yrs donot have half the talent that genesis had - they are a one of a kind band never to be duplicated

@smckenna30 -- I saw this tour in Miami and NO they did not do "Sussudio" or "Can't Hurry Love." Yes to "We Can't Dance." Whatever; it's a fun song. Of course most Genesis fans just want the old stuff, but too bad. On every tour, the new songs were more popular and the band were always proud of new material. That is ALWAYS how Genesis was. I respect that. Even on "The Lamb" tour, they performed the entire record, but fans complained that they didn't do "The Knife". Can't please everybody!
Personally, I'm a big fan of medleys. I think they're cool. If you don't wanna hear it, just pull up the original version. But when you have 20 hours of music to pack into a 2 hour concert, SOMETHING is gonna get left out. You grab the essence of some classics and get 8 songs into 20 minutes.

Genesis treating older material like this is a shame. They medley'd this great material so they could play full-length versions junk like "Susudio" and "We Can't Dance"? Lame. The Phil Collins Band..maybe they did "Can't Hurry Love" as the encore.

Dean, I knew a guitarist who recreated Hackett's solos beautifully on a double-necke d Gibson SG. He was about 21 years old at the time.
Just missed Steve Hackett Live in Budapest 2009. Missed it by (1) stinkin week.......

Great musicianship but, I just can't take the way Phil Collins presents Peter Gabriel's songs -- like a Las Vegas review.
Is that Darrel Struemer (sp?) hacking up Hackett's solo on the Firth of Fifth segment? What a way to turn one of the most beautiful guitar solos ever into a wankfest! I cringed.
