@ Manhoff, I'm having a lot of trouble trying to figure out why you can't hear the stylistic similarities between two 80's-synth-pop-rock bands... yes, I'm aware of DEVO's socio-political agenga, but they still made plastic pablum pop! (And it still rules.)
The Go-go's performed at our Christmas dance in 1982 at Aviation High School in Redondo Beach, CA. This was pre Beauty and the Beat.

I was a divorced, single mom with 3 daughters. We had a rusty Chevy and we'd roll down the windows and I'd play this song and we'd sing our lungs out, pretending the rusty Chevy was a snazzy convertable. I am better off and my daughters are gown up, but they remember the pretend snazzy convertable!
I love the Go Go's, but on what parallel universe would you group them with Devo? "Our lips are sealed" was the third song played on my devo station.

Reminds me of driving in the hot Arizona summer with the windows down and not a care in the world.

One of the best tracks of the 80's. Incredibly infectious, filled with youthful yet universal observations, perfectly performed by Belinda & Co. Great stuff.
