Guttermouth

Huntington Beach, CA-based punks Guttermouth formed in 1989, comprised of vocalist Mark "Mercury" Adkins, guitarists Derek Davis and Scott Sheldon, bassist Stever Rapp (who replaced original bassist Clint Weinrich), and drummer Captain James T. Nunn. Debuting a year later with the single "Puke," Guttermouth issued their debut LP, Full Length, in 1992, followed in 1994 by Friendly People, their first effort for new label Nitro Records. Guttermouth resurfaced in 1996 with Teri Yakimoto, followed a year later by Musical Monkey; their first concert LP, Live from the Pharmacy, appeared in 1998. Their sixth album, Gorgeous, was issued a year later, featuring new drummer Ty Smith; Covered with Ants followed in mid-2000, marking their first for Epitaph.

Guttermouth are studio hounds; they returned to the punk rock scene in fall 2002 when the ambitious Gusto was released, and came back for more in 2004 with the scathing Eat Your Face (with guitarist Don Horne and ex-Slick Shoes bassist Kevin Clark now on board). That same summer saw the departure of drummer Smith to concentrate on his side project Bullets and Octane; the outspoken band also reportedly got kicked off the Warped Tour in August. Adkins later clarified they left the tour by choice, sickened by the ignorant political comments spouted during various bands' sets. After departing Epitaph Records, the group was officially added to the Volcom Entertainment roster in late 2005. Busy since then, Guttermouth contributed the track "April 29th, 1992" to the Sublime tribute album Forever Free, and released their installment of the Beyond Warped Live Music Series in January 2006. The band's tenth album, Shave the Planet, appeared that August, with Adkins, Sheldon, and Horne joined by original bassist Weinrich and drummer Ryan Farrell. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi

Saw them Live too not so long ago. They get down
These guys are sooooo AWESOME live, their frontman broke up a ensueing fight in front of the stage mid-song and didn't miss a beat. If you have the opportunity to see them live you wont regret it!
Fun to see live! From my hometown
One of my fav bands!!! Saw them live - they are awesome!!!!
Their shows are always good.
one of my favorite bands! grabbed the mic at a show and was able to sing part of Jamie's petting zoo! Last place I saw them was at the one and only Casbah!
What about Gorgeous and Musical Monkey??? Both, what I would consider Guttermouth' s best work!! Better than Gusto and shave the planet for sure!! WTF get-her together Pandora!

Remember getting split open at a G-mouth show in DC years ago. As a west coast transplant I did my best to spread g-mouths word over the years. Including $100 to anyone of my friends that would play hot dog to the head at a bar juke box. First saw them somewhere in Ventura opening for offspring. Now that's scary!
I had there very first recorded demo on casssette, (Thanks Saba). Saw them in MANY backyard parties & Venue's. Chex in LA MIRADA 1 of my favorites.
lyrics can be found at www.plyrics. c o m :) should really add them pandora!!
they sound like a Vandals knockoff band to me.
Guttermouth put out a split EP with a band called The New Threat last summer. Its the first new music theyve put out in nearly six years. IT SHOULD BE ON HERE!!!!
love guttermouth. i have been listening to them since i was 12. one of my all time favorite bands.

hey chip it's too bad we had to grow up cuz i know my youth rocked going to see shows at Fenders and the olympic with no cares except partying and girls

Its called growing up. No one can stay, or should stay, as carefree as they were in youth. That is just irresposible . How about i dont think about the "Punk" movement and just enjoy the music whether i drive and SUV or a honda.
t.glass5

bray_022002
DAMN...What can I say, seen these guys to many times to count. And got to hang out and drink some beer with them, among other things at a warped tour.
But you gotta love there spirit!! they are true punkers.
I don't remember the last time I saw these guys but it dates back to the way-early 90s in a backyard or two and then stumbled upon them at some cafe in old school Pomona. Never would have figured them to have made as big a name for themselves as they have, but I dug them just the same for saying it straight.

They just emerged on the Pandora genre and again hit it big with SKATER'S ANTHEM!!!!! HAAAAAAAAAAA A A A ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! HILARIOUS.

bb you are one cynical b**tard. No matter what job I have, the ideas and ideals I have will remain the same, unless I change them. F**k the SUV too, you can get by with a family of 2 in a sedan.
Guttermouth is not to be taken seriously. Bands that get all political and "care" don't change anything. What, your punk till your 28 and then you get the SUV, two kids and "job" that pays for it all? Punk "values" out the window so we can pay the bills. All these years Guttermouth never pretended they care because they know it's all bullshit anyway.
guttermouth has always put on the best show or at least the most fun and chaotic. that's punk!! my favorite was when mark threw one snowball at a boreal show and the crowd returned about a 1000 back.
k13dreams
Friendly People is their best album, wish they had that one on here.
Guttermouth is f**king great old school hardcore punk mixed with some new school punk to spice it up. I play this band when I go out to beat up Neo-Nazis.
someone needs to get pandora Musical Monkey. that's easily their best album.
Any chance we can get some of the early 90s tunes installed? Looking for the goods they played in the backyard parties in the San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire.

guttermouth= d r u n k , sweaty fun

Their show on Friday in Phoenix was good but finished week
Brilliant punk band that are a call back to the days when it was the message that mattered and not just sound. This is a band that truly embodies the quote by Ralph Waldo Emmerson "Speak words as hard as cannon balls today and do not fear if your words today do not match what you said yesterday" Not many bands have the balls to do this but Guttermouth does and that should qualify them for some sort of award, like "band with the most spine".
ufk yeah, ol school Guttermouth is legit, reminds me of going to see my buddy when he was going to Orange County College
hahaha i luv guttermouth! ! :D
laurajacker
