Hard rockers J. Loren and Evan Johns met after Johns' producer father, Andy, heard Loren on a demo tape and was intrigued by the singer's voice. Upon hearing that Loren was looking for a drummer, Andy Johns arranged for the two young musicians to get in touch, and they quickly found that they played well together. Soon guitarist Paul Spatola and bassist Joshua Ansley joined (though Loren also plays guitar and violin for the band and Johns adds piano) and Hurt was completed. In 2006, their debut, Vol. I, came out on Capitol Records, while the following year the appropriately titled Vol. II was released. ~ Marisa Brown, Rovi
i love this band they were my first ever concert to go to. It was AMAZING the bad thing is that it being my first i will compare my other concerts to it and none of them will compare.

@callsigntank This group might not fit the genre that it's categorized, but to call their musicianship medicore is well... you're just not listening to the same band the rest of us are

How did this end up on Rhapsody of Fire Radio? Come on pandora, this mediocre musicianship does not belong on a Neoclassical Symphonic Power Metal channel, it bears no similarities to the genre.

Starting to really love the music these guys make, hope they come down to Baton Rouge sometime soon. I would love to see them live.
This is one of my favorite bands ever!! They are one of the most under rated bands!! I just got to see them in a small venue and there were only about 25 people there.
I luv this artist/ everything about their group reminds me of alot ROCK ON

HURT ROCKS!!!! Best New Band Period.

Everything about HURT's music is great. Lyrics are emotionally stirring, to say the least. The vocals are amazing, and the band keeps up without missing a beat. Would very much like to hear them in person.
I first herd this band on X103 when i lived in Indiana. After hearing "rapture" I was in love with the band. Then I saw them in concert that year at X Fest in Noblesville, IN. I was amazed that the lead singer played violin. Made me fall even harder. :) thanks Hurt for your wonderful music. It inspires my dance. Keep rockin!
This is the greatest band that has everything I'm looking for. I know all their songs by heart! First song I ever heard was Falls Apart, shown to me by my husband. So glad I know them!! Spread the word! Help me make them more famous!!

I hadn't listened to them in a few years and just got back into them. Fantastic musicianship all around mixed with deep and emotional lyrics. Definitely an amazing band.
I first heard Rapture the day it came on the radio here in Vegas. imediatly after i bought volume one. There is so much range in there music how can anyone not like them.
Hurt is by far my favorite band. J. even knows me by name now. They are such great and humble musicians. J.'s lyrics speak to every emotion I have. There is so much beauty and pain in their music. Thank you all for listening... to the greatest band making music right now, HURT!!!!
Hurt has gotten me through so many bad times in my life, and they have saved my life. This is the only band I listen to when I'm upset because its easy to really connect to, the raw emotion is amazing.
Hurt puts alot of emotion into their earlier songs, and their music hel;ped me get through some rough times. I went to a concert about a year ago in CO, and they did an acoustic segment halfway through. It was the single best concert I've attended.
i saw hurt about two summers ago at a free concert in Tempe Az. They completely rocked, and afterward they all hung out, signed autographs, hugged people, shook hands, talked and basically just hung out. they were totally cool people and jay was very nice.

I saw these guys about 2 years ago. I can honestly say it was the best concert I have ever been to. HURT ROCKS!
Their new album was pretty good but its like each song didnt have an identity, if you catch my drift. and i was dissapointed to hear that wars was the best song. but got jealous, pills, and 1331 were pretty damn good.
based on what you guys have said, i gotta see one of these guys lives shows. But dont get angry at me for not seeing one yet, im 14 and i havent been able to see a concert yet, noy even when chevelle was in town... fml
when vol 2. came out i was very exited to see how these guys sophmore album would be, and it was f**king great. every song was great, summers lost, abuse of sid, ten ton brick, evryone. but my personal favorites are definatly et al and on the radio. Its one of my favorite albums and i think its gonna stay that way.
These guys came around when alot of other new bands were and i wasnt sure which ones to get into or not. However, i heard rapture on the radio and it seemed diffrent and interesting, so i went on a whim and bought vol 1. and i got to say, one of the best decisions ive ever made. Their lyrics are trencending their songs are flat out cool and the way they made volumes 1 and 2 was ingenious.
I met Hurt in 2006 when they first hit the scene and I watched them grow into who they are now and I can say I have never met such talented and humble souls.
I was introduced to this band by a friend and I have since seen them live twice. They actually sound better live than on the album imo but they are an amazing band.

Goodbye to the Machine was not a bad album; just a different approach.
I can NOT wait for The Crux though.
It inspires my dance. Keep rockin!
