Idle Cure

Comments

I remember hearing a couple of bands in So. California that I loved. The first one dissolved and three of the five members reunited. One of the members was Pete Lomakin, who later joined Idle Cure, which was one of my two favorite Christian metal bands (Daniel Band being the other) before I learned my old friend was part of the band.

Idle Cure gave me a true Christian rock outlet - love them!!
Would like to see more of their albums added.
Wow...memori e s . . . h o w did I forget about them...bless e d group!
Idle Cure was one of our (my) favorite bands during the era of early Christian rock. When Stryper broke the mold for all Christian rock music, the genre started to see a flood of really talented artists who had, up until then, been holding back apparently. It was an industry dominated by the Gaithers, Amy Grant, Carmen, and Michael W. Smith...all whom were not rockers at the time. We couldn't stand any of their music back then. It was music for preppy-churc h boys.
Part 2:

We were already into the heavier side with bands like Barren Cross, White Cross, and of course Stryper. As our taste began to develop a little, several of the large labels began to send us demo records of new bands for us to give opinions. We had recommended several successful bands that eventually became staples of the Christian market
Part 3:
When Idle Cure rolled around, we were like whoa! who's this? They had a solid Survivor-ish type sound but could definitely rock. They filled a void for a more commercial sound coupled with more heartfelt ballads. It was hard to take a Barren Cross ballad seriously, even a Stryper ballad seemed off. Idle Cure had ballads you could put into your mix collection that would hold their own against any secular love song. Great band with a lot of talent.
I had forgot about this group. I smiled when I heard this again. It takes me back to my cruising days.
