Jesper's voice is certainly different... Even the most true In Flames fan have to admit his voice is just plain, not good. However, in the same breath, its his voice that makes the band unique. Some people may listen to AC/DC and say, who the hell would listen to that dude shriek all day. Other of coarse love his voice. Regardelss, Clayman just kicks major a**. Listen more often, you'll get used to Jesper, and you'll start loving his work.
Thanx, maggot. It's a little frustrating when people who don't comprehend the importance of the percussiveness of growled vocals as a component of some heavy music speak out against it. I mean it's not as superfluous as, say a bassline. That said, I must admit I don't know any of the words to Jester Race but can clearly hum you the whole album. I'm not saying it would have been better as an instrumental album, but their musical chops are strong enough that I would have bought the album regardles
