Not thier best album but its in the top 5 maiden albums ... Well thought out and the synth thing was just them growing and exploring new things as a band changing with the " times"

Great song. Some people don't like their period where they added synth but i think this is every bit as good as anything else they did before this or since.
Epic song from an epic album! They integrated some synth but didn't go overboard with it like they would for 'Seventh Son...' Depending how you look at it, it either marks the end of the 2nd phase of Maiden (i.e. ..Beast to ...Time) or the beginning of their 'prog' phase!
I have to say Bob Dylan is a better lyricist, even if you can't understand what he chants. :P I'd also have to put a word in for Neal Peart (Rush) for insane lyrical abilities. But Maiden lyrics are (usually) exceptional.
Comparing the lyrics from an Iron Maiden song to a Beatle or Bob Dylan song is a joke. The Beatles originated the 2 minute single. Hell - the typical Maiden lyrics don't even start by the time a Beatle song is over. She loves me yeah yeah yeah???? WOw - thoughtful and deep. We all live in a yellow submarine? Really? - well let me torpedo that 'cker.
And Dylan? The guy just flat out stinks. Zero vocal ability and how anyone could enjoy listening to him is beyond me.
Just crank this song and ride the electric waves.... who cares if the lyrics are abstract... they probably only make sense after the 3rd drink ;) Great song!
"an unintelligible vocal delivery"? Bruce Dickenson? THey need to go review ther criteria. Bruce's vocals are wide ranging and crystal clear. The music couldn't work with out it. It Flat out kicks a**
